You can run a prerecorded Hindi news clips playlist as a continuous YouTube Live stream by preparing a compatible playlist, creating an encoder stream in YouTube Studio, and sending its ingest URL and private stream key from FFmpeg. The key is to test the media and connection before leaving them unattended: FFmpeg does not grant rebroadcast rights or, by itself, supervise every failure. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, so plan separately if you need replays of a 24/7 broadcast.
Before you start: rights, channel access, and a clip library
Confirm that you have permission to livestream every clip and any music, graphics, agency material, or third-party footage it contains. Being able to download or play a clip does not grant rebroadcast rights. YouTube’s monetization policies also apply to livestreams; a stream made primarily from other publishers’ footage may face rights claims or monetization review.
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube requires a verified channel and no livestreaming restriction in the previous 90 days. See YouTube’s encoder livestream instructions.
- Inventory the files. Record each clip’s filename, duration, source, rights status, and any required attribution. Organize the intended order and watch for gaps, duplicate clips, or abrupt audio changes.
- Inspect media compatibility. FFmpeg’s concat demuxer works most reliably when inputs have compatible stream properties. Clips with different codecs, dimensions, frame rates, or audio layouts may need to be normalized first. - Keep the stream key secret. Treat it like a password. Do not put it in a public script, screenshot, or tutorial; reset it if you think someone else has obtained it.
Prepare and test the FFmpeg playlist
Build a sequential input list
FFmpeg’s concat demuxer reads a list of files in sequence. A basic playlist file is plain text, with one file entry per line, for example:
file '/path/to/clip-001.mp4'
file '/path/to/clip-002.mp4'
file '/path/to/clip-003.mp4'Save it as a text file such as playlist.txt. Use paths that exist on the machine running FFmpeg, and quote paths containing spaces or special characters correctly. Check the installed FFmpeg documentation for the precise syntax and escaping rules for your operating system and file paths; the official references are the FFmpeg command documentation and FFmpeg protocol documentation.

For a collection of compatible files, pass the list to FFmpeg as a concat-demuxer input. Whether to loop the input, transcode it, and how to handle differences depends on the installed FFmpeg version and the media. There is no safe universal copy-and-paste command for arbitrary clips: absent audio, mixed frame rates, changing resolutions, or incompatible codecs can cause failures, gaps, or poor transitions. Test the actual playlist, including its end-to-start loop, before using it for a live event.
Normalize files that do not match
If clips have inconsistent video or audio properties, convert them to a common format before assembling the live input, or build an FFmpeg filter and encoding pipeline suited to those files. Choose an output resolution and frame rate the source material can support; upscaling low-resolution clips will not add detail. Confirm that the playlist has audio throughout if you intend to broadcast audio, and check synchronization and levels across transitions.

Run a short test first
Test a short sequence with the intended playlist, encoding settings, and destination. Watch the YouTube preview and stream-health indicators. Confirm that the picture, audio, timing, clip order, and transition from the final clip back to the first clip behave as expected. Do not treat a command that starts successfully as proof that a long broadcast will remain healthy.
Create the YouTube encoder stream
- Sign in to the verified channel and open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room.
- Create or schedule an encoder stream. Follow the current prompts for the event and visibility settings.
- Copy the ingest URL and stream key shown for that stream into your FFmpeg configuration. YouTube’s instructions describe entering these values in the encoder and checking the preview before going live: Connect your encoder and go live.
- Use the current Live Control Room preview and stream-health status to verify the incoming feed before making the event public.
Do not paste your real key into a command or configuration file that you might publish. Store it in a protected environment variable or secret store, and substitute a placeholder such as YOUR_STREAM_KEY in any shared example.

Configure FFmpeg for YouTube Live
Use the ingest destination displayed in Live Control Room and an output format supported by YouTube. YouTube recommends RTMPS, an encrypted form of RTMP transport, and publishes its current codec and encoder guidance on its live encoder settings page. Follow that page for current supported codecs and settings rather than relying on old values copied from another tutorial.
- Rate control: YouTube recommends constant bitrate encoding. Select a bitrate appropriate for the chosen resolution and frame rate, and make sure the connection can sustain it reliably.
- Keyframes: YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds.
- Resolution and frame rate: Choose values supported by your FFmpeg build, source footage, and upload connection. Avoid selecting a higher output quality than the material and connection can reasonably sustain.
- Audio and codec: Use a codec combination supported by YouTube’s current encoder guidance. If clips have no audio or inconsistent audio streams, account for that in the input and output pipeline rather than assuming FFmpeg will produce a consistent soundtrack.
- Destination and key: Supply the exact ingest URL and key from Live Control Room. Keep the key private.
FFmpeg command options depend on the clips, filters, codecs, frame rate, resolution, and installed build. Validate the command against the documentation for that build; label all assumptions in any example you share. The settings above are YouTube’s recommendations, not a claim that one particular FFmpeg command has been tested with your files.

Keep the 24/7 broadcast operating
An uninterrupted playlist is a process that needs operational oversight. FFmpeg can exit, the network can fail, output can freeze or become silent, and YouTube can report stream-health problems. Monitor the FFmpeg process and YouTube’s stream health, and decide in advance how you will notice and respond to failures. If you use a process supervisor or alerting system, configure and test it separately; starting FFmpeg does not automatically provide complete restart supervision or alerts. YouTube’s live streaming tips recommend testing and monitoring stream quality.

Plan replays around YouTube’s archive limit
YouTube’s encoder instructions state that streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume one 24/7 session will produce a complete replay. If a YouTube replay is important, consider shorter scheduled sessions and organize the resulting archives, or make a separate recording and archive plan. Check the current behavior in Live Control Room before relying on an archive.

Copyright, reused content, and possible revenue
Permission to rebroadcast footage and eligibility for monetization are different questions. Secure the necessary rights for every clip and included third-party element. YouTube’s channel monetization policies apply to livestreams and address reused content as well as content that is repetitive or mass-produced under its inauthentic-content policy. The policy page records a clarification dated July 15, 2025; it does not promise that a particular channel or playlist will qualify. Original reporting, meaningful context, and editorial presentation can distinguish a news product, but they do not replace rights or guarantee a monetization decision.
YouTube lists live ads, Super Chat and Super Stickers, and memberships as possible revenue features. They depend on channel eligibility and enabled settings; YouTube says ad slots are not guaranteed to serve. Stream duration alone is not a reliable basis for estimating earnings. Troubleshooting common problems
