You can run a Hindi music playlist around the clock by sending a continuous encoder feed from an OVHcloud VPS to YouTube Live. Before choosing a server, confirm its sustained outbound capacity and traffic terms for your exact plan and region; then enable YouTube Live, configure an encoder, secure the stream key, and verify that you have the rights to broadcast every track.
Before you set up the VPS
Confirm your channel can go live
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time live access can take up to 24 hours to activate, so check YouTube Studio before spending time configuring the server. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility requirements.
Check the exact OVHcloud plan and region
A VPS encoder continuously uploads your program to YouTube. The connection must sustain the stream’s bitrate, with additional capacity for network variation. YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload-bandwidth headroom; this is general encoder guidance, not a measured requirement for a particular OVHcloud VPS.
Do not assume a VPS plan’s advertised connection speed is a guaranteed sustained upload rate or that its traffic is unlimited. OVHcloud says bandwidth is shared and not guaranteed, and that public traffic limits can vary by service or region. Its general bandwidth FAQ does not establish current outbound limits for the VPS plan you intend to use. Check the exact product page and account terms for your region, including traffic allowances, charges, and resource allocation, before purchasing. Get permission for every track first
Do not start a public music stream unless you have the necessary rights for the tracks and intended uses. YouTube’s livestream terms say: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.” A personal music subscription or a generic “royalty-free” label does not by itself establish permission for a worldwide public livestream.
Keep written records of permissions and confirm with each licensor which territories, live broadcasts, and archived playback are covered. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A match may replace the stream with a placeholder and can lead to interruption or termination if the content remains. If you have licensed third-party material, YouTube says to ask the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; without allowlisting, a stream can still be interrupted. Platform guidance does not determine the precise legal rights needed in every country. Read YouTube’s terms and YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.
Set up the 24/7 stream from the VPS
1. Choose and prepare an encoder
You need an encoder running on the VPS to turn your playlist into a continuous audio/video feed. YouTube’s documentation describes encoder streaming but does not require a particular Linux distribution, command line, daemon, or automation package. Choose an implementation compatible with your operating system and media files, and make sure you know how it will restart after a process or server failure, how you will monitor it, and how you will protect its configuration and credentials.

Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create or schedule a live stream and select the encoder workflow.

Copy the stream URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room into the encoder’s streaming settings. Use the RTMPS URL provided there: RTMPS adds TLS encryption to RTMP.

Treat the stream key as a password. Store it securely on the VPS, restrict access to the account and configuration that need it, and do not post it in logs, screenshots, or public support requests. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
Use the URL and key from your own Live Control Room rather than copying connection details from an example. See YouTube’s encoder setup guidance and YouTube’s RTMPS guidance.
3. Set the output format and check the signal
YouTube’s current encoder guidance lists RTMP/RTMPS transport; H.264, H.265, or AV1 video; AAC or MP3 audio; and constant-bitrate encoding. It recommends a two-second keyframe interval. Bitrate recommendations vary with the chosen codec, resolution, and frame rate, so select an output profile first and use the matching values in YouTube’s encoder settings guidance, rather than guessing a bitrate for a static-image music stream.

Test the playlist with the intended audio and visuals, check YouTube’s preview and stream-health indicators, and monitor the VPS’s outbound network use. The actual upload rate must fit the available sustained capacity while retaining YouTube’s recommended headroom. If the feed is unstable, lower the output bitrate or choose a VPS whose verified capacity and traffic terms fit the stream.
4. Keep the playlist running and monitor recovery
Configure the encoder or its process manager to restart if it exits, and check that the playlist advances instead of ending after one file. Set up a way to notice a failed process, lost network connection, or unhealthy YouTube ingest; a VPS does not automatically guarantee that the encoder will recover correctly. After a restart, confirm the feed returns in Live Control Room and that audio is present. Protect the VPS with current security updates and limited account access, since OVHcloud makes the customer responsible for managing its software and security.
Common problems and what to check

You cannot start a live stream: verify the channel is eligible and verified, check for a live-streaming restriction within the previous 90 days, and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.

YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: recheck the RTMPS server URL and stream key against Live Control Room, confirm the key has not been changed, and inspect the encoder’s connection status and VPS network access.

The preview buffers or stream health is poor: compare the selected bitrate with the VPS’s real sustained outbound capacity, account for traffic limits, and retain the recommended upload headroom. A shared, non-guaranteed bandwidth figure is not proof that the VPS can sustain your chosen profile.

The stream is interrupted over a music match: review the matched content and the rights you hold. If the use is licensed, ask the rights holder to allowlist your channel in Content ID; a license alone may not prevent automated interruption.

The stream stops after a file or process ends: check playlist looping, encoder logs, process restart settings, and whether the VPS or network connection restarted. Verify recovery in Live Control Room instead of assuming that a restarted service restored the broadcast.
