You can run a continuous Hindu mantra stream on YouTube with an encoder that sends audio and video to your channel, but first confirm your channel can livestream and that you have rights to every recording you broadcast. “Christian-free” is an editorial choice—not a YouTube setting or category—so make the boundary clear in your title, description, visuals, and playlist. Plan a local recording backup: YouTube warns that a stream lasting more than 12 hours may not be archived.
1. Set the editorial boundary and check channel eligibility
Decide what “Christian-free” means for this channel and apply it consistently. For a Hindu devotional stream, use Hindu mantra content only; exclude Christian songs, prayers, and imagery. State the programming focus plainly in the title and description, and review the playlist and visual scene before going live. YouTube does not provide a special “Christian-free” content category.
YouTube’s livestream eligibility guidance sets a minimum age of 16 and requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube lists streaming software, or an encoder, as a way to go live. Check your channel’s current eligibility before building a continuous setup.
2. Clear the rights to the actual audio and video
Do not treat the age or religious tradition of a mantra as proof that a recording is free to use. A modern performance, arrangement, and sound recording can have separate rights. YouTube’s livestream terms make the creator responsible for having the necessary rights for worldwide exploitation of the live content, including music rights involving artists, labels, publishers, and other rights participants.

Choose a source you can document
- Original performance: Use recordings you made, and confirm that everyone involved has granted the necessary rights for the live transmission and any replay.
- Commissioned performance: Get a written grant that specifically covers live streaming, intended territories, and archive or replay use.
- Third-party recording: Obtain a license that covers the actual recording, worldwide live use, and the archive. Keep written proof and clarify whether the rights holder will add your channel to its Content ID allowlist.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party material. If it detects protected content, it can replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you; if the material continues, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. A license does not necessarily prevent that interruption: YouTube says a rights holder may need to add a licensed channel to its Content ID allowlist. Keep the permission and allowlisting arrangement accessible while you stream.
Creator Music is not a source of licensed live-stream audio: YouTube describes its track licenses as applying to long-form videos, not live streams or Shorts. YouTube states that Creator Music is available to U.S. YouTube Partner Program creators, with expansion outside the U.S. pending.

3. Choose an encoder setup that can stay operating
An encoder workflow sends audio and video from a computer or hardware encoder to YouTube continuously. Use media that remains available to the encoder, a restrained visual scene, reliable power, and a stable upload connection. Arrange human or automated monitoring so that a silent, frozen, or disconnected stream is noticed. YouTube’s guidance does not guarantee that a 24/7 setup will stay online without interruption.
Compare the two audio-source approaches
| Choice | Rights and control | Cost and upkeep |
|---|---|---|
| Original or commissioned audio | Can offer clearer control over revisions and permissions, provided the written grant covers worldwide live transmission and archive use. | Production cost depends on the creator’s arrangement; no standard cost is established. You retain more direct control of the recording. |
| Third-party licensed audio | Check the specific recording’s live and replay permissions, territories, and whether Content ID allowlisting is required. | License cost and revision control depend on the rights holder and agreement; no standard cost is established. |
Compare software and hardware encoding
A software encoder on a dedicated computer and a hardware encoder are both possible approaches; the cited YouTube guidance does not establish a universally preferable model. Choose based on your operating skill, reliability needs, power and heat constraints, and how you will recover after an outage. Do not assume a particular device is required.

- PLUG IN AND HEAR SOUND IN SECONDS - USB Type-A connector with a 3.5mm stereo headphone output and a separate 3.5mm mono microphone input. No drivers, no software, no external power - the adapter is USB bus-powered and is recognized as a standard USB audio device.
- WORKS ON WINDOWS, MAC AND LINUX - Driverless on Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/7/8, Linux and Mac OSX, and compliant with the USB Audio Device Class 1.0 specification, so any system that supports class-compliant USB audio will see it. Select it as the sound output and input device after plugging it in.
- TWO JACKS, TWO JOBS - The green jack is stereo OUT for headphones or powered speakers; the pink jack is mono microphone IN for a 3.5mm mic. It does NOT support 4-pole headsets on a single combo plug, it does NOT power passive speakers, and it does NOT add surround sound - it is a stereo 2-channel adapter.
- FOR LAPTOPS AND DESKTOPS THAT NEED AN AUDIO PORT BACK - Adds a headphone and mic port to a laptop, desktop, or mini PC whose onboard jack has failed or was never there. Managed and work-issued computers can block new USB audio devices by policy - check with your IT department before ordering for a company machine.
- SABRENT SUPPORT AND WARRANTY - What is in the box: one USB audio sound adapter. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty, extended to 2 years when you register within 90 days on the manufacturer's website.
4. Test the whole stream before making it public
- Set up the encoder stream in advance. Connect the intended audio, video, and YouTube stream configuration before the planned launch rather than discovering a routing or source problem on air.
- Test privately or unlisted. Play through the intended loop and check the YouTube Live Control Room preview. Confirm that the correct scene and audio reach YouTube.
- Check playback on a phone. Verify the stream is viewable on mobile, not just in the encoder preview.
- Check a local recording. Start a local archive and verify that the file is actually growing. YouTube recommends a local archive backup.
- Test failover and monitoring. YouTube’s production tips recommend testing failover and continuously monitoring audio and video quality. Confirm who or what will notice a silent stream, lost connection, or stalled source.
5. Protect the archive and plan for streams longer than 12 hours
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. A continuous 24/7 broadcast exceeds that limit, so do not rely on YouTube’s automatic archive as your master copy. Record locally and plan enough storage for the retention period you want; check measured file growth before deciding how much capacity to reserve.
An external hard drive is one optional way to hold a local backup, not a YouTube requirement. The cited guidance does not prescribe a brand, drive type, model, or capacity. If an available YouTube replay is important to your audience, investigate whether separate shorter sessions fit the intended experience and verify YouTube’s current behavior before depending on that workflow.

6. Understand monetization and originality before launch
YouTube lists live ads, channel memberships, Super Chat, and Super Stickers as possible livestream monetization features, subject to channel and feature eligibility. Ads are not guaranteed to serve, and rights claims can affect monetization or visibility.
YouTube’s July 15, 2025 clarification says repetitive or mass-produced content is “inauthentic” and ineligible for monetization. A static image over an endlessly repeated track may therefore be a weak monetization proposition, even if you own the recording. Make the stream demonstrably original and useful through original performances, context for the mantra, thoughtfully curated rotations, creator-authored explanations, and meaningful production choices. A loop does not automatically qualify for the YouTube Partner Program.

7. Troubleshoot common failures
- YouTube does not show the stream preview: Recheck that the encoder is connected to the intended YouTube stream configuration and that the correct scene and sources are active. Test privately or unlisted before going public.
- Dropped frames or intermittent disconnections: OBS’s connection guidance identifies the network path between the computer and ingest server as a likely issue; the connection may be unstable or unable to sustain the configured bitrate. Lower the bitrate to match stable upload capacity and troubleshoot the network before assuming YouTube is at fault.
- The stream is interrupted after a copyright warning: Stop or replace the flagged material. Confirm that your permission covers the recording and live use, and ask the rights holder whether your channel must be added to its Content ID allowlist.
- The 24-hour replay is missing: YouTube warns that streams over 12 hours may not be captured. Use the local recording as the backup; do not depend on the automatic archive for a continuous day-long transmission.
- The stream is online but silent or visually frozen: Check the actual YouTube preview and mobile playback, inspect the active encoder sources, and confirm that local media is still playing. Continuous monitoring helps catch failures that a one-time launch test will not.
Or let it run in the cloud
