You can run a continuous Catholic rosary livestream by sending a rights-cleared prerecorded video or playlist from a streaming encoder to a YouTube Live event. YouTube must first allow your channel to livestream; then you connect the encoder with the event’s stream URL and key, check the preview in Live Control Room, and start the broadcast. For an unattended 24/7 stream, plan separately for copyright interruptions, encoder and connection failures, and replay preservation: YouTube warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all.
Before you start: check eligibility and prepare the rosary videos
Confirm that your channel can livestream
YouTube’s current guidance says the channel must be verified and have had no livestreaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Check this in YouTube Studio before configuring your encoder; eligibility problems cannot be fixed by changing encoder settings. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
Clear rights for every part of the recording
Confirm that you have permission for the actual recording and for any musical composition and arrangement, translation, artwork, or other third-party material it contains. A prayer’s religious or traditional character does not automatically clear a particular recording, modern translation, musical setting, or image. Check that permissions cover live transmission and any replay or archive use you intend.

Prepare and inspect the video or playlist
Use a finished video or playlist that can be sent continuously by your encoder. Watch the intended sequence before going live: check the transitions, audio levels, visual changes, and whether the playlist repeats as intended. Decide what should happen if a file ends or playback stops. Do not assume a loop or automatic restart works until you have tested it in your chosen encoder.
Create a YouTube Live event and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Go Live. Create a live event or schedule it for the time you want the stream to begin.
- Choose the encoder workflow. In the event’s Live Control Room, locate the stream URL and stream key.
- Enter the connection details in your encoder. Put the URL and key into their corresponding fields. Treat the key like a password: do not show it in a public screen capture or share it unnecessarily. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio.
- Start sending the prerecorded feed from the encoder. Use the correct ingestion endpoint. For a standard encoder, Google documents RTMPS—RTMP over an SSL connection—on port 443. See Google’s RTMPS ingestion guidance and the YouTube LiveStreams connection documentation.
- Wait for the preview in Live Control Room. Confirm that the intended rosary picture and sound are reaching the right event, then select Go live in YouTube. YouTube’s encoder instructions describe this sequence in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
Rehearse before leaving the stream unattended
Use a private or unlisted rehearsal where appropriate. Verify the preview, playlist order, loop transition, sound, and that you have selected the correct event. Test how your setup behaves when the video ends, the encoder restarts, and the network connection drops. These checks are important because a working initial preview does not establish that playback will recover automatically after an interruption.

For a 24/7 broadcast, somebody needs a way to notice and respond to failures. Plan for the encoder or playout system, power, internet connection, source files, and a person responsible for monitoring. The cited platform guidance does not guarantee unattended playback or 24/7 uptime for a particular encoder or provider.
Watch for connection problems
If you use OBS, monitor dropped frames and YouTube’s stream health information. OBS notes that increasing dropped frames can indicate an unstable connection or a bitrate the connection cannot sustain. Use the OBS Help Portal to troubleshoot connection issues; do not assume the prerecorded file is defective when the incoming connection may be the cause.

Preserve the replay independently
YouTube says a livestream shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but warns: “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” A continuous 24/7 broadcast is longer than that threshold, so do not rely on YouTube as your only copy if preserving a replay matters. YouTube recommends recording a local archive as a backup. See Archive live streams.
YouTube also says DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable on very long streams. Check its DVR guidance for live streams.

- Record a local archive if you need a dependable copy of the broadcast.
- Calculate storage from the encoder’s recording settings and how long you want to retain files; YouTube does not specify a required drive type or capacity.
- Consider ending and starting separate broadcasts or publishing separately produced replay files if you need accessible archives. Test how your encoder handles local recording while streaming.
Choose how to keep the stream running
Run an encoder yourself
A local computer running an encoder gives you direct control over playback and local recording, but the computer, power, and internet connection must remain available. You also need to monitor the encoder and arrange a response if playback or the connection fails. The official guidance establishes the need to send an encoder feed and the value of a local archive; it does not establish a guaranteed-uptime configuration for a particular computer or encoder.
