To run a 24/7 Buddhist mantra stream on YouTube from India, verify and enable live streaming for your channel, clear the rights to every recording and visual, then send a continuous encoder feed to YouTube and monitor it for failures. YouTube does not guarantee uninterrupted streaming: keeping a channel live around the clock is an operating goal that depends on your playback setup, connection, power and response plan.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel that is verified, eligible for live streaming and at least 16-year-old-operated, in line with YouTube’s stated minimum age.
- Mantra recordings and visuals that you own or have permission to use in a live stream.
- A software or hardware encoder that can send a continuous stream to YouTube.
- A plan to check the live output and respond if playback or the connection fails.
YouTube supports encoder streaming for productions that use overlays or dedicated production equipment. A professional-grade hardware encoder may suit a higher-production-value event, but YouTube does not make one mandatory; software encoding is also an option. 1. Enable live streaming on your channel
- In YouTube Studio, complete channel verification if you have not already done so.
- Confirm that the channel has no live-streaming restriction within the preceding 90 days.
- Enable live streaming and make sure it is available before setting a launch time. YouTube for Artists advises enabling a first live stream at least 24 hours before the planned broadcast.
- Check the live-streaming controls in YouTube Studio before launch rather than assuming the feature is active.
YouTube’s live-streaming requirements include channel verification and no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube states that streamers must be at least 16. Its cited requirements do not establish a special India-specific eligibility rule.
2. Choose software or hardware encoding
Both approaches send your prepared video and audio to YouTube. Choose based on the production you want and who will operate and recover the stream.

Neither option removes the need for monitoring. If you configure a backup encoder, test failover before relying on it: YouTube’s tips describe stopping the primary encoder or disconnecting its Ethernet cable and checking that playback rolls over. Inspect the Live Control Room preview before starting, confirm playback from channel and watch pages and mobile devices, and monitor audio and video. If you record an archive locally, keep an eye on file growth.
3. Clear the mantra recordings and visuals
- List each audio recording, arrangement, performance and visual that will appear in the stream.
- Identify who owns each item and whether your intended live use is covered by permission or a licence.
- For third-party music, coordinate with the rights holder, label or distributor. Ask the owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist and keep the confirmation and permissions accessible to the stream operator.
- Do not treat a devotional or traditional subject as proof that a particular recording is free to use. Rights depend on the actual recording, arrangement, performance and visual.
YouTube says, “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” Detection can lead to a placeholder, interruption or termination. A licence alone may not prevent a live interruption if the channel has not been allowlisted. YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams explains the risk. 4. Prepare the broadcast and test the full loop
- Set up the broadcast in YouTube’s Live Control Room and connect the encoder using the stream settings shown there. Keep the stream key private; anyone with access to it may be able to send video to your broadcast.
- Start with a private or unlisted test if suitable for your launch plan. Check the Live Control Room preview before making the stream public.
- Play through the full loop, including transitions, any slate or visual overlay, and the return from the end of the playlist to its beginning. Listen for silence, abrupt cuts, unintended gaps or audio that becomes too loud or quiet.
- Check that the stream can be reached from your channel and watch pages and on mobile devices.
- Assign responsibility for noticing a failure and restarting or recovering the stream. If using a backup encoder, test the handoff in advance rather than assuming it will work.
YouTube’s cited guidance recommends testing and monitoring, but it does not promise 24/7 uptime or prescribe a particular India network or power arrangement. For continuous operation, include local power and connectivity contingencies in your own plan; the appropriate choices depend on your location and service.
5. Operate it as a continuous service
A 24/7 stream needs a routine, not just a successful launch. Decide how the operator will check that the encoder is still sending, the YouTube preview is moving, audio remains audible and the stream is accessible to viewers. Establish who gets alerted, how they will investigate a dropped feed, and how they will restart or switch to a tested backup. Periodically review the playlist and permissions when content changes.

YouTube’s official tips discuss event testing, monitoring and failover, not guaranteed round-the-clock uptime. Treat the stream’s continuity as your responsibility rather than a platform promise.
6. Set realistic audience and monetization expectations
YouTube for Artists reported that over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That is broad platform context, not a forecast for Buddhist mantra viewers, India or any particular channel.

Do not assume an unarchived 24/7 feed builds qualifying watch hours. YouTube says public archived livestreams may count toward qualified watch hours; live streams that are not archived do not.
