To keep a home-computer bhajan stream running through a power cut, keep every essential part of the chain powered: the streaming computer, modem or optical network terminal (ONT), router, and any required audio equipment. Size backup power from the equipment’s real combined load and the outage duration you want to cover, then test the entire setup. A UPS or inverter cannot keep an internet connection alive if your ISP service also goes down.
Choose the right streaming setup first
For a live performance or camera feed
The computer or encoder must stay on, along with any camera, audio interface, mixer, or other device the broadcast depends on. Include each essential device in your power-continuity plan. A cloud playlist service cannot replace the electricity and internet needed by a live camera or performance feed.
For prerecorded bhajans
You can stream a playlist from a home computer, or consider cloud playout: YouTube lists cloud-based tools for continuous live streams made from prerecorded video. That identifies a type of service, not a guarantee about any vendor’s current terms or reliability. Whichever method you choose, you need the rights to stream the music.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteWhat must stay powered?
Make a list of everything that would stop or degrade the stream if it lost power. At minimum, check the streaming computer, modem or ONT, and router. Add essential audio equipment and any other required device. Powering the computer alone is not enough if the router or ONT shuts off.

- Power accessories: Include any required adapters or equipment in the test, not just the main devices.
India’s Ministry of Power said on 23 March 2026 that Rule 10 provides for 24×7 supply by distribution licensees, subject to the Commission’s ability to specify fewer hours for some categories; state governments and utilities are responsible for supply and distribution. That policy context does not guarantee uninterrupted power at a particular home.
Choose a UPS or inverter around your actual load
There is no responsible one-size-fits-all UPS capacity or runtime: both depend on your equipment, its combined operating draw, the backup system, and how long you want to ride through an outage. First measure or establish the real load of the devices that must run together. Then compare backup options against that load and your target duration.

- 1500VA / 900W RELIABLE BACKUP POWER: The highest VA capacity available for home use; delivers short-term battery power to keep essential devices powered during blackouts, surges, and unexpected power interruptions
- TEN PROTECTED OUTLETS: Power your entire setup with 5 battery backup outlets for essential devices, and 5 surge-only outlets for peripherals. Plus built-in coaxial and Ethernet surge protection for added peace of mind
- AUTOMATIC VOLTAGE REGULATION (AVR): Corrects low voltage brownouts (88V+) and surges (+/-13%) without draining battery. Boosts or trims to stable 120V. Extends runtime for blackouts; Active PFC compatible for gaming PCs
- REPLACEABLE BATTERY & ENERGY STAR UPS: User-replaceable battery (APCRBC124, sold separately) for zero-downtime swaps. ENERGY STAR certified for 92%+ efficiency, cutting energy costs vs standard UPS units
- LCD DISPLAY PANEL: Features an intuitive LCD screen that displays real-time status information including battery charge level, estimated runtime, load capacity, and input voltage for easy monitoring of your power protection system
- Establish the load: Add the operating draw of the computer, network equipment, and any essential audio or video gear that must remain on.
- Set a target duration: Decide what outage you want the system to bridge. Do not assume a product’s headline capacity translates directly into runtime for your full setup.
- Compare suitable options: Evaluate a computer UPS and an inverter-and-battery arrangement for usable capacity, device and output compatibility, transfer behavior, battery requirements, local service, and target runtime.
- Cover network gear deliberately: A compatible router or modem mini UPS may help with a narrow network-equipment power need, but it will not power the streaming computer. A computer UPS addresses the encoder; check separately whether it also powers the ONT and router.
- Test the full chain: Run the equipment together on backup and confirm it behaves as required. Do not select a system based on an untested runtime claim.
These are equipment categories, not model recommendations. The right choice depends on your measured load and local conditions.
Keep the ISP connection in the plan
Power continuity and internet continuity are separate. A powered computer and router cannot preserve a connection if the ISP is unavailable. Check whether your broadband service actually remains up during a local power cut, and whether the ONT or other provider equipment also needs backup power.

If you are considering a mobile-data or second-ISP fallback, verify coverage at your home, upload capacity, data limits, and whether it depends on the same vulnerable local infrastructure. Include the hotspot or modem in your power plan. YouTube notes that connectivity disruption can break a stream and recommends upload headroom.
Set up and test YouTube Live
- Confirm channel eligibility: YouTube says live streaming requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Use YouTube’s current Live Control Room and encoder instructions to configure your broadcast.
- Check upload capacity: Run an upload-speed test on the connection you will use. YouTube recommends keeping 20% upload-bandwidth headroom; this is a planning recommendation, not a guarantee that a stream will stay connected.
- Choose encoder settings for your connection: YouTube’s current encoder-settings guidance lists RTMPS and provides codec, resolution, frame-rate, and bitrate recommendations. Select settings based on tested upload capacity and the quality you want; there is no universal bitrate that suits every stream.
- Use your stream key carefully: Enter the key in your encoder using YouTube’s current setup flow. Treat it as a credential, and do not share it publicly.
- Test before relying on the stream: Start a test broadcast, check the actual YouTube player, and confirm video and audio are correct. YouTube’s encoder tips advise testing and checking the live stream.
Rehearse a power cut, not just a normal startup
Test the full chain under the condition you need to survive. YouTube recommends testing the setup; a deliberate outage rehearsal also reveals whether backup power, the internet path, and encoder recover as expected.

- With the stream running, switch the setup to backup power using the method you expect during an outage.
- Confirm the computer, ONT or modem, router, and essential audio equipment remain powered and behave correctly.
- Check that the ISP connection remains available and the encoder continues sending or resumes as intended.
- View the actual YouTube player and confirm the broadcast is still live with usable audio and video.
If the rehearsal fails, identify which dependency dropped—power, network equipment, ISP service, or encoder—and address that specific failure before depending on the stream.

Clear music rights and plan for recording separately
Devotional content is not automatically cleared for rebroadcast. Confirm the rights for every recording and composition in the stream. YouTube’s livestream terms say the broadcaster represents that they have all necessary rights for worldwide exploitation of the live content, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. A recording being traditional, religious, or accessible online does not by itself grant permission to stream it.

If you need a complete recording of the broadcast, arrange a local archive or another recording workflow. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Do not rely on a single uninterrupted 24/7 stream as a complete archive.
