To rotate showroom videos in a YouTube Live stream, arrange rights-cleared clips in the order you want, play them through an encoder such as OBS, and send that encoder’s feed to a YouTube Live broadcast using its server URL and stream key. The rotation happens in the playout software—not in a YouTube playlist setting. For a shop that wants the sequence to continue without a computer running on site, a cloud playout service is another option.
Choose where the video rotation will run
YouTube Live receives a live feed from an encoder. The encoder or playout system supplies the showroom clips in sequence; YouTube does not rotate uploaded videos for you.

The comparison is based on documented workflows, not hands-on testing. If you need custom scene changes or live camera cuts, a local OBS setup offers control. If unattended operation matters more, cloud or dedicated hardware avoids relying on an always-on shop computer. Compare total cost, internet and power reliability, and who will monitor the stream before choosing.

Arrange the clips for viewers
- Choose the showroom tour, product demonstrations, and offer clips to include.
- Put them in the intended order in the playout system. Consider grouping related products and placing key contact or store information where viewers can see it.
- Watch the sequence from beginning to end before broadcast. Check that transitions are sensible, audio levels are usable, and no clip ends abruptly.
Confirm permission for video and audio
Use footage and music your shop owns or has permission to broadcast. Confirm that the permission covers both live streaming and the replay or on-demand archive. YouTube’s live-production guidance says creators must obtain necessary content clearances for the live stream and its on-demand video: YouTube live-stream production guide.

Keep records of licences or permissions. A clip being available online, or music being used in a shop, does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast it on YouTube.
Set up a looping rotation in OBS
OBS is the local, computer-based route. The exact labels and available sources can vary with installed OBS and VLC versions, so check the source options in your own setup. A vendor guide documents using a looping Media Source for one file, or a VLC Video Source for multiple files when that integration is available.

- Create a scene. In OBS, add a scene for the showroom stream. Add any permitted graphics or overlays you need, and size the video to fill the canvas without distorting its aspect ratio.
- Add a single clip. Add a Media Source and select the video file. Enable its loop option if you want that file to repeat continuously.
- Add multiple clips. If the VLC Video Source is available in your OBS installation, use it to build a playlist from the files and put them in the intended order. Confirm the source advances through the list and repeats as intended.
- Check audio and transitions. Play the whole sequence in OBS. Confirm each file appears, audio is present where expected, and the transition to the next clip works. Do not assume that a successful preview of one clip proves the full playlist works.
- Keep the local setup available. For the duration of the live stream, keep the OBS computer powered on, connected to the internet, and able to play the files. Have backup clips ready in case a file or source fails.
Create and connect the YouTube Live broadcast
- Activate live streaming in advance. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a broadcast in Live Control Room. YouTube says first-time live-stream activation may take up to 24 hours; this is a possible service activation window, not a guaranteed setup duration. See YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance.
- Create or schedule the event. Scheduling gives you an event URL to share in advance. Check the title, visibility, and planned start time before promoting it.
- Copy the connection details. In the YouTube broadcast setup, copy the server URL and stream key, then enter them in the streaming settings for your encoder. YouTube documents this encoder workflow in its live encoder setup guide.
- Protect the stream key. Treat it like a password: do not post it publicly or include it in a screenshot. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio before relying on it again.
- Start the encoder and preview. Start streaming from OBS and check that Live Control Room receives the expected video and audio. Correct any framing, sound, or source-order problem before making the broadcast public.
- Start the event when required. A scheduled stream may need a separate Go Live action in Live Control Room unless its auto-start behavior is enabled. OBS documentation explains the distinction between manual Go Live and auto-start for scheduled streams: OBS scheduled-stream guidance.
Monitor the stream and finish cleanly
- Watch the first complete rotation, not just the opening clip. Verify that every video appears in order and that the loop returns to the start as intended.
- Keep Live Control Room’s stream-health view available while broadcasting. If the feed stops or degrades, check the encoder, local network, computer power, and source playback.
- When the event is over, stop the encoder and end the broadcast in YouTube Studio as appropriate. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; its production guide states, “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” See the official production guide.
- Review the replay for any content or transition issue that was not obvious during the live event.

Troubleshooting common problems
YouTube does not receive a signal
- Check that the encoder has the correct YouTube server URL and stream key.
- Confirm OBS is actually streaming and that the computer still has internet and power.
- If this is the first time the channel is going live, activation may still be pending; YouTube says it can take up to 24 hours.
The broadcast is waiting even though OBS is streaming
Check Live Control Room to see whether the event needs a manual Go Live action. Confirm whether auto-start is enabled for the scheduled stream.

The clips do not advance or repeat
- For one file, verify the Media Source loop setting.
- For multiple files, confirm the VLC Video Source is available and the playlist order is correct. Play through the end of the sequence to verify its repeat behavior.
- Check that each file can play in the installed setup and that its path is still valid.
A clip has no sound or a bad transition
Preview that point in the sequence in OBS and check the source’s audio and the clip itself. Reorder, replace, or repair the affected file before returning to the live feed.
The stream stops during a local OBS broadcast
Check power, the shop computer, network connection, OBS status, and whether the media source is still playing. A local encoder depends on those components remaining available. Keep backup clips ready and monitor stream health in Live Control Room.

Before committing to a setup, verify current equipment or service pricing and availability for India. The documented options do not establish a specific local cloud provider, a price for the AJA HELO Plus in India, or whether a particular shop’s internet connection can sustain its chosen stream. Test the actual setup on the shop’s connection and confirm that whoever is responsible can monitor or recover it.
