To rotate prerecorded product-comparison videos in a nonstop YouTube Live stream, run a continuous encoder feed that plays the files in sequence. YouTube is the destination; it does not play your playlist for you. You can run the encoder locally with software such as OBS, or use hosted cloud playout. The local option gives you more direct production control but requires your computer, power, internet connection, and encoder to stay available.
Choose how to keep the stream running
| Decision | Local software encoder | Cloud playout |
|---|---|---|
| What stays running | Your computer, encoder, power, and internet connection. | A provider’s hosted playout environment; you still configure and monitor the stream. |
| Control | Direct control over OBS scenes, overlays, sources, and live switching. | Depends on the provider’s current playlist and control features. |
| Operational work | Manage local updates, sleep and restart settings, computer capacity, and connection resilience. | Upload media, configure the service, and account for provider availability and service cost. |
| Best fit | You want direct production control and can maintain a running local setup. | You want prerecorded playout without leaving a dedicated PC on. |
There is no independent uptime comparison established here, so do not assume that cloud hosting guarantees an uninterrupted stream. Check the service’s current playlist controls, recovery behavior, and total cost before relying on it.
Prepare the channel and comparison videos
Confirm live-stream eligibility
YouTube Help says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. First-time live activation may take up to 24 hours, and the help page lists a minimum creator age of 16. Confirm your channel’s current eligibility and activation status in YouTube Studio well before your planned launch. YouTube: Get started with live streaming
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

- Use a consistent resolution and aspect ratio where practical, and inspect every file for damaged sections, missing audio, or abrupt changes.
- Review transitions for long black or silent gaps. A clean first video does not prove every later file will play correctly.
- Watch at least one complete playlist cycle before relying on it. Pay attention to transitions and changes in codec, frame rate, or audio layout.
- Keep comparisons current. Replace videos with outdated prices, availability, or product claims; continuous playback does not make old information accurate.
These are operational precautions, not guarantees of YouTube acceptance.

Set up a local OBS stream
YouTube’s encoder workflow uses a stream URL and stream key. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a stream in Live Control Room, then configure OBS to send its output to YouTube. Exact interface labels can change; follow the current encoder instructions in YouTube Help: Use an encoder to go live.
- Create the YouTube broadcast. Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create or schedule the stream and locate its stream URL and stream key.
- Protect the key. Enter the key only in your encoder. Treat it as sensitive access information; do not publish it or share it with people who should not control the stream.
- Configure OBS output. In OBS, open Settings and choose the stream service or custom server option that matches YouTube’s current encoder instructions. Enter the server URL and stream key supplied in Live Control Room.
- Load the prerecorded program. For one repeating video, use an OBS media source and enable looping. For multiple files, use an available VLC Video Source or arrange sources in scenes and automate switching. Check your installed OBS version and available source options; do not assume every installation includes the same components.
- Start and verify the feed. Start streaming in OBS and check Live Control Room for incoming video and audio, stream health, and the intended playback quality. Resolve warnings before treating the broadcast as live.
- Check a full rotation. Let every file play through at least one complete cycle. Watch for failed transitions, silent sections, black frames, or unexpected changes in picture and sound.
- Keep the local system available. Prevent sleep or shutdown, keep OBS running, and ensure the computer and network can sustain the stream. Have a way to correct a defective file or restart the encoder if the feed stops.

Protect the stream and comply with YouTube rules
Clear rights to everything in the replay
You are responsible for the rights to music, footage, product imagery, and other material in prerecorded comparisons. YouTube identifies copyright strikes and matches with another copyrighted live broadcast as possible causes of live-stream restrictions. Review YouTube’s live-stream restrictions and make sure you have permission to use the content in a live broadcast.
Handle product placements and endorsements
YouTube’s restrictions guidance also addresses paid product placements and endorsements in live streams. Check current platform rules and the disclosure law that applies to your relationship and jurisdiction; the exact wording cannot be determined without those details. YouTube says all live-stream content must follow its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. See YouTube’s live-streaming policies.

Plan for archive and stream limits
YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; that does not establish that a single nonstop stream will be archived indefinitely. Plan how you will preserve or replace material you need, and check current Studio behavior. YouTube’s help page also lists a maximum of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key, limits that may matter for multi-output operations. Check the current encoder guidance before launch.

Troubleshoot common failures
- YouTube receives no signal: Confirm OBS is streaming, the server URL and stream key match the broadcast in Live Control Room, and your connection is available. If you exposed the key, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- The first video works but a later one fails: Inspect the failing file and its transition, including audio and video integrity. Test the entire playlist cycle rather than only the opening segment.
- The feed stops when you leave: A local encoder depends on the host computer, power, and internet remaining available. Check for sleep, shutdown, restart, or connection interruptions; alternatively, use hosted playout.
- The stream is restricted or interrupted over rights concerns: Review the content for copyrighted music, footage, or a match with another copyrighted live broadcast, then consult YouTube’s current restriction guidance.
- The replay is missing or incomplete: Check the stream duration and current Studio archive status. The cited YouTube guidance only says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; it does not promise indefinite archiving for a nonstop broadcast.
