To rotate English and Spanish sermon recordings on YouTube, first decide whether viewers should choose and watch recordings on demand or whether the church wants those recordings to air automatically as a live broadcast. For on-demand viewing, make two ordered YouTube playlists and translate their titles and descriptions. For an unattended prerecorded livestream, use a scheduled playlist service such as Restream’s Upload & Stream feature, or compatible dedicated hardware such as the AJA HELO Plus. A regular YouTube playlist does not itself become a livestream.
Choose between playlists and a livestream
A YouTube playlist organizes videos for viewers to browse or play; it is not a scheduled broadcast. YouTube documents playlist management separately from creating a live stream with an encoder. If people should select English or Spanish sermons when they want to watch, playlists are the straightforward option. If sermons need to play out as a live event while nobody is operating the church computer, use a workflow that schedules prerecorded media to YouTube Live.
Create separate English and Spanish playlists
- In YouTube Studio, create a playlist for English sermons and another for Spanish sermons. Use titles and descriptions that clearly identify each language.
- Add the relevant sermon videos to each playlist and arrange them in the order you want viewers to watch them.
- Use YouTube Studio’s playlist translation controls to add translated titles and descriptions. This makes the language choice clearer to viewers who use the other language.
- Share the playlists with your congregation and keep adding new recordings to the appropriate collection.

Schedule prerecorded sermons as a live stream
Restream documents a cloud workflow for scheduling prerecorded video playlists to YouTube. Its help page, published July 25, 2026, describes these steps:

- In Restream, choose the prerecorded livestream option.
- Select the playlist option, then add or select the sermon video files.
- Drag the files into the intended playback order and preview the playlist.
- Schedule the playlist event and select YouTube as a destination.
This feature requires a paid Upload & Stream add-on tier. Restream’s help page, accessed October 3, 2026, lists the following plan figures and playlist limits; verify current terms and pricing on the provider’s page before subscribing.

Restream says a playlist can run up to 24 hours and contain up to 40 videos. The video library limit and playlist duration are separate constraints: check that the library allowance fits the files you plan to use. Videos can only be added, removed, or reordered before the playlist goes live.

Restream’s documented playlist feature cannot blend live content with prerecorded media. If the service needs a live pastor greeting, prayer, or other live segment alongside recorded sermons, this specific playlist workflow will not provide both in one playlist. Plan separate segments or choose a production setup that supports the live handoff.

Consider dedicated encoder hardware
YouTube’s encoder documentation names the AJA HELO Plus and says its PlayToStream functionality can schedule prerecorded media and stream it directly to YouTube Live without a computer. This is a dedicated hardware option rather than a cloud playlist subscription. The cited YouTube page does not establish that it is the lowest-cost choice, so compare the device and operating costs with the needs of your church before choosing it.
Know what YouTube requires for encoder streams
For an encoder-based YouTube broadcast, YouTube instructs streamers to enter the YouTube Live server URL and stream key into the encoder. Treat the stream key as a credential: restrict access to the staff who need it, and use YouTube’s controls to replace it if it is exposed. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived after the encoder stops sending content.
