There is no single reset procedure for every SteelSeries Arctis Pro. First identify whether you have the wired Arctis Pro with ChatMix Dial, the wired Arctis Pro + GameDAC, or the Arctis Pro Wireless. A GameDAC settings reset is different from resetting a headset, and the pinhole reset steps for some other Arctis models should not be applied to these devices.
Identify which Arctis Pro you have
Check the hardware in front of you before trying a reset. SteelSeries maintains separate support and manual resources for the three configurations, and their connection paths differ: SteelSeries Arctis headset reset guidance and Arctis Pro product information.
- Wired Arctis Pro with ChatMix Dial: the headset connects to a ChatMix Dial, which connects to the computer or platform.
- Wired Arctis Pro + GameDAC: the headset connects to an external GameDAC, which connects to the computer or platform.
- Arctis Pro Wireless: the headset works with a wireless transmitter and has a swappable dual-battery system.
GameDAC is a dedicated USB DAC and amplifier; it is not the wireless transmitter or a control dial. For variant-specific documentation, use the matching SteelSeries support resource and manual rather than treating the names as interchangeable.
Can you reset the headset itself?
SteelSeries’ general How-To: Reset your Arctis Headset guidance points users to SteelSeries GG and connecting the headset to a computer, but it does not give a specific reset-button location or button combination for the wired Arctis Pro in the reviewed instructions. Do not assume there is a universal button sequence.

SteelSeries lists pinhole reset switches for certain other wireless Arctis models, and explicitly says that listed procedure does not apply to Arctis Pro Wireless. The wired Pro is not covered by that wireless reset guidance either. Do not insert a pin or use battery-drain steps intended for another model.
Restore settings on Arctis Pro + GameDAC
A third-party HardReset.Info video published on 2024-03-17 describes a GameDAC factory-reset menu path: hold the control wheel, navigate to “About,” then choose “Factory Reset” (video). This is not an official SteelSeries procedure confirmed by the support sources cited here. Menu labels and availability may differ by device or firmware.

- Confirm that your unit is the wired Arctis Pro + GameDAC, not the ChatMix Dial model or Pro Wireless.
- Check the matching GameDAC manual and inspect the menu on your device before choosing a reset option.
- If your GameDAC presents the reported menu, understand that a factory reset changes GameDAC settings; it is not evidence of a physical headset reset.
- Afterward, reconnect and reselect the appropriate audio devices in your operating system and applications.
Check connections and audio selection before resetting
For the GameDAC setup
SteelSeries’ PC setup guide for Arctis Pro + GameDAC says to connect the GameDAC to the computer by USB and connect the main headset cable between the headset and GameDAC. On Windows, select the GameDAC as the default playback, communications, and input device. If one of these connections or selections is wrong, correcting it may resolve the problem without changing device settings.
For the ChatMix Dial setup
In the wired ChatMix configuration, verify the headset-to-dial connection and the dial-to-computer USB connection. SteelSeries’ ChatMix setup guidance also covers selecting the correct platform audio devices. Check both the operating system and the chat application’s input and output selections.

When a cable may be the problem
If the audio cuts out when the cable moves, or inspection reveals visible damage, the main headset cable may warrant further checking. The GameDAC setup documentation establishes that this cable is part of the connection, but it does not establish a current replacement SKU or compatibility across every Arctis Pro variant. Verify your exact model and connector before purchasing a replacement. A cable does not reset the device and will not resolve unrelated software, audio-selection, or GameDAC-setting problems.
