You can replace the display on a Fairphone (Gen. 6), also listed as Gen. 6+, with Fairphone’s model-specific replacement display. Before ordering, confirm your exact model, check whether warranty applies, and use Fairphone’s current repair guide for the screw and connector sequence. Fairphone estimates the replacement takes 10–15 minutes; that is the manufacturer’s estimate, not a guaranteed repair time.
Which screen fits the Fairphone 6+?
Fairphone’s official US shop lists The Fairphone (Gen. 6) Display as compatible with the Fairphone (Gen. 6/Gen. 6+). The listing showed $89.99 when accessed on October 4, 2026; that is a US price and may change. The package contains the display only, not repair tools.
Check the model before buying. Fairphone Support says parts are not interchangeable between different phone models, specifically noting that Fairphone 5 parts cannot be used in the Gen. 6. A similar screen size or appearance is not evidence of compatibility. Third-party marketplace parts have not been verified here.
Should you repair it yourself or contact Fairphone?
First troubleshoot the display problem and check your warranty. Fairphone recommends contacting Customer Support before ordering a spare part if the issue might be covered. If the phone suffered water damage or a severe fall, seek a professional assessment: other components may also be affected.

Fairphone’s Europe repair-cost guidance, updated September 3, 2026, says repairs covered under the 24-month manufacturing warranty or a registered commercial extended warranty (up to five years) include free repair and shipping. Out-of-warranty repairs and user-damaged devices are diagnosed and quoted by the service center after inspection. These are Europe-specific terms; check the policy for your region before deciding.

What tools and preparation do you need?
Fairphone specifies a Torx T5 screwdriver. Its preparation guidance also calls for a clean, flat, well-lit work surface, a soft cloth, two small containers for screws, and a plastic card, guitar pick, or plectrum for separating components.

- Follow the guide’s screw and connector order exactly. Do not substitute a sequence from another Fairphone model.
- Use plastic or a fingernail—not metal—to disconnect board-to-board connectors.
- Keep screws organized, and do not insert the two long outer screws while the back cover is off. Fairphone warns they can reach too deep and permanently damage the phone.
- After reassembly, start the phone and test the display.
When should you stop and get help?
- You cannot confirm that your phone is a Gen. 6/Gen. 6+ or that the part listing matches it.
- The phone has water damage or took a severe fall, so faults may extend beyond the display.
- You are unsure about the connector or screw sequence, or lack the specified Torx T5 and a suitable plastic opening tool.
- You suspect warranty coverage; contact Fairphone Support before buying a part.
