Apple’s iPhone Music app does not provide the duplicate-scanning controls documented for iTunes on Windows and Music on Mac. To find duplicates across a library, scan it on a computer, review the matches, remove the unwanted library entries, and sync your iPhone using your usual method. On the iPhone, you can remove a selected song or album, but that is not a library-wide duplicate scan.
Find duplicates in your computer library
Apple documents duplicate-finding tools in iTunes for Windows and Music for Mac. The ordinary duplicate view finds instances of a song by the same artist; the exact-duplicate view narrows the results using song, artist, album, and version information. Review each result before deleting: tracks with the same title may be different recordings or album versions.

In iTunes for Windows
- Open iTunes and choose Music, then Library.
- Select a library item.
- Choose File > Library > Show Duplicate Items to view instances of a song by the same artist.
- To narrow the results to exact matches, hold Shift while choosing File > Library > Show Exact Duplicate Items.
- Compare the entries and delete only the copy you do not want. Choose Done or Show All Items to return to the full library.

In Music on Mac
- Open Music and click Songs in the sidebar.
- Select a song.
- Choose File > Library > Show Duplicate Items.
- To see exact matches, hold Option while choosing File > Library > Show Exact Duplicate Items.
- Check the versions and remove only the unwanted entry.

Choose what to remove on your iPhone
In Apple Music, touch and hold the song or album, then tap Remove. The next choice determines whether you are clearing a device download or deleting a library item; they are not interchangeable.
- Remove Download: Removes the local copy to free device storage, while keeping the library entry. A catalog song that is no longer downloaded needs an internet connection to play.
- Delete from Library: Removes the library item and removes it from playlists. If Sync Library is on, Apple says the music is also deleted from your other devices.

Sync the cleaned library without replacing the wrong content
What happens next depends on how your iPhone gets its music. With manual computer syncing, a song removed only from the iPhone may return at the next sync if it remains in the computer library. Remove the unwanted entry from that library as well, then sync again.

If you use Apple Music’s Sync Library instead, Apple’s Spanish-language support page says the feature requires an Apple Music subscription and gives the setup path on iPhone through Music settings. Menus and availability may vary by region or change over time; consult Use Sync Library with your Apple Music subscription. Apple also discusses cloud options as an alternative to iTunes syncing in its sync guidance.
