You generally cannot get a refund for a Super Chat you chose to send, even if you sent it to the wrong 24/7 livestream or did not get the response you hoped for. YouTube describes Super Chats as voluntary, non-refundable payments and does not list a special exception for continuous streams. If you did not authorize the charge, report it to YouTube promptly; its guidance gives a 120-day reporting window.
Can you get a Super Chat refund from a 24/7 livestream?
Usually, no—not if you authorized the purchase and now regret the amount, the stream you sent it to, or what happened afterward. YouTube Help says Super Chats are voluntary and non-refundable. Its published guidance does not identify a different rule for a stream that runs continuously, so the ordinary policy applies to Super Chats sent during a 24/7 stream. YouTube’s Super Chat purchase guidance and refund guidance explain the policy.

The key distinction is whether you authorized the transaction. A payment you knowingly sent is different from a charge made without your permission; use YouTube’s unauthorized-charge process for the latter.

How to report an unauthorized Super Chat charge
- Check whether you authorized it. If you intentionally sent the Super Chat, do not report it as unauthorized just because you changed your mind or wanted a different outcome.
- Use YouTube’s official unauthorized-charge instructions. Follow the report link provided on YouTube’s charge-reporting help page. YouTube gives a 120-day reporting window for unauthorized digital purchases. The page does not state a publication year for this deadline.
- Choose the route that matches what happened. YouTube distinguishes accidental unauthorized purchases that were not fraud and directs those cases to the refund-request route on its website. Follow the instructions for your circumstances; a request does not guarantee a refund.
- Check the billing provider. Some newer purchases made in the Android app may be billed through Google Play. For an unauthorized Super Chat charge or another payment issue involving an iPhone or iPad purchase, YouTube directs users to Apple Support. Apple-billed purchases are governed by Apple’s refund policies.
Why the 24/7 format and deleting the message do not change the policy
YouTube’s reviewed refund guidance covers Super Chats generally and does not name stream duration as a refund criterion. It does not state a special exception for continuous streams, nor does it say that waiting for a stream to restart reverses a payment.

A Super Chat is a paid message in live chat. YouTube says creators may end a live chat or stream before a paid message’s ticker time has run out, and Super Chats do not transfer between videos. Do not assume that a message or its display time can be moved to another stream.
Deleting the message will not get the money back. YouTube Help states: “Deleting a Super Chat message post-live stream will not result in a refund.” YouTube live-chat moderation guidance

What will not reverse an authorized payment
- Deleting the Super Chat message after the livestream.
- The creator ending the stream or chat, or the stream restarting.
- Sending the Super Chat to the wrong 24/7 livestream.
- Not receiving a reply or other interaction you hoped for.
For an authorized purchase, these circumstances do not create a refund exception in YouTube’s published guidance. If the charge was not authorized, use the reporting process rather than relying on chat actions or waiting for the stream to return.
