First identify when the unwanted touch happens. If the phone is in a dark pocket or bag, Samsung’s Accidental touch protection can help on supported Galaxy models. If it happens while you are holding and using the unfolded phone, check Samsung’s edge-touch settings and compare behavior with the case removed. These are different problems, and pocket protection is not documented as active-use palm rejection.
Identify when the touch happens

The settings and apps below are Samsung-specific guidance; other foldable brands may use different controls or offer no equivalent feature.
Stop touches while the phone is in a pocket or bag
Enable Accidental touch protection on a supported Galaxy
- Open Settings > Display > Accidental touch protection.
- Turn on Accidental touch protection, if the option is available on your model.
- Lock the phone before storing it. Samsung Canada notes that a lock screen is useful if the display wakes, and that a flip or wallet-style cover may help block pocket touches.
Samsung describes the feature as preventing touch input “while the device is in a dark place, such as a pocket or a bag.” See the Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7 and Z Flip7 FE user guide and Samsung’s US support instructions. Availability, default settings and menu names can vary by model, carrier, software and country.

Reduce edge or palm touches while using the unfolded phone
Check Samsung’s edge-related settings
Samsung Korea recommends reviewing Edge Touch and One Hand Operation+ in Good Lock when touch recognition is abnormal, if those apps are installed. Their settings may affect how edge input and gestures are handled. Samsung’s guidance is specific to its devices; it does not establish that these apps or identical controls are available on every foldable.

Compare the phone with and without its case
Temporarily remove the case and use the phone in the same way that produced the unwanted touch. If the behavior changes, the case fit may be contributing. Samsung says some non-Samsung case rims can affect edge touch or gesture recognition because of the height difference between the case and screen. This is a possible cause, not proof that third-party cases generally cause edge problems. The troubleshooting guidance is on Samsung Korea’s touch-recognition support page.
Distinguish a wake-up from an edge gesture
If the display wakes or turns on before the unwanted action, check the wake settings rather than treating it as a palm-rejection problem. Samsung Canada suggests disabling Lift to wake or Double tap to turn on screen if they are too sensitive. The precise menu path may differ by phone and software version. Do not remove the factory inner-screen film to troubleshoot
The inner-screen film on Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip devices is designed for those foldable screens. Samsung warns that removing it or applying non-official film may cause touch malfunction or screen damage. If the film needs replacement, Samsung advises visiting a service centre; do not use removal as an experiment to diagnose edge touches. Read Samsung Korea’s foldable main-screen film guidance.

What Touch sensitivity does—and does not—establish
The Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7 and Z Flip7 FE user guide lists Touch sensitivity under Display settings and describes it as increasing sensitivity for screen protectors. It does not describe this setting as preventing accidental edge touches. Treat it as a screen-protector sensitivity option, not as a documented palm-rejection fix. Menu availability can vary across models and software.
