Creators in India can enable Super Chat if their channel meets YouTube’s feature requirements, but Google does not offer a setting to choose an INR payout. YouTube pays through AdSense for YouTube; for a wire transfer, Google says payouts are issued in USD or euros depending on the country, and the recipient’s bank may convert the funds into local currency. The exact payout currency for an Indian account is not stated universally, so check your own AdSense for YouTube payment details and ask your bank about conversion and fees.
Can an Indian YouTube channel receive Super Chats?
Yes. India is on YouTube’s availability list for Super Chat and Super Stickers. Availability alone does not guarantee access: the creator must meet the feature requirements, accept the relevant terms, and use an eligible livestream or video. See YouTube’s Super Chat and Super Stickers eligibility, availability, and policies.
Super Chat is a paid fan-funding feature, not a donation or crowdfunding tool. YouTube says creators remain responsible for complying with applicable laws. Do not promise viewers or yourself a particular legal or tax treatment based on the feature’s name.

How to turn on Super Chat in YouTube Studio
- Check for access. Sign in to YouTube Studio and open Earn. Look for the Supers tab or card. If it is not available, review the channel’s monetization status and feature eligibility in Studio.
- Confirm the feature requirements. You must be at least 18, live in an available location (India is listed), meet YouTube’s fan-funding requirements, and accept the Commerce Product Module or an applicable legacy Commerce Product Addendum. YouTube’s monetization guidance explains that features can have their own eligibility conditions.
- Accept the terms and enable Supers. In the Supers area, accept the applicable module or addendum and switch on Super Chat as prompted. The precise Studio controls can vary as YouTube updates its interface, so follow the labels shown in your account.
- Use an eligible livestream or video. Turning on the feature does not override video-level restrictions. Super Chat is unavailable on age-restricted, unlisted, private, Made for Kids, or YouTube Giving fundraiser videos, and it requires live chat or comments to be enabled.
Do not confuse YPP entry thresholds with Super Chat access
YouTube’s expanded Partner Program entry tier describes 500 subscribers, three public uploads in the past 90 days, and either 3,000 qualified public watch hours in the past 365 days or 3 million qualified public Shorts views in the past 90 days for some features. A higher tier describes 1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 qualified public watch hours in the past 365 days or 10 million qualified public Shorts views in the past 90 days for ad revenue and additional monetization. These are program thresholds, not a guarantee that a channel or a particular video qualifies for Super Chat; feature-specific and account-status requirements still apply. Check the current conditions in YouTube Studio and the linked monetization guidance.
Set up AdSense for YouTube and add an Indian bank account
- Link or create the payment account through YouTube Studio. Follow the AdSense for YouTube setup flow in Studio. Complete the identity, address, and tax-information steps that Google requests. Google permits only one AdSense or AdSense for YouTube account under the same payee name.
- Open your payment details. In AdSense for YouTube, go to Payments → Payments info. Check the reporting currency, payment threshold, account status, and any holds shown there. Thresholds depend on the account’s reporting currency; do not assume an INR threshold if your account does not display one.
- Add the payment method available for your account. Google lists wire transfer for YouTube payment accounts with an Indian payment address. Enter the information requested in your account; Google’s wire-transfer help identifies the account holder name, bank account number, bank name, SWIFT code, and IFSC for India. Confirm with your bank that it accepts the incoming transfer and ask about its conversion rate, intermediary or receiving-bank charges, and processing rules.
For current setup and payment-account details, use Google’s AdSense for YouTube help and payment-method instructions. Use the fields and requirements displayed for your own payment address and account.
Will Google pay Super Chat earnings in rupees?
Do not treat INR as a currency you can select for Google payouts. Google states, “Unfortunately, it’s not possible to change your payment currency.” Its wire-transfer FAQ says payouts are issued in USD or euros depending on the country, while the recipient’s bank may exchange the funds into local currency for deposit. The FAQ does not identify which of those payout currencies applies to every Indian account. Check the currency shown in AdSense for YouTube → Payments → Payments info rather than assuming a denomination.
A bank credit in rupees can therefore reflect the bank’s conversion of a transfer; it does not establish that Google issued an INR-denominated payout. Google says the bank determines the exchange rate where conversion is needed, and bank fees may apply. Confirm both directly with your bank before estimating the amount that will arrive.

When YouTube finalizes earnings and sends payment
YouTube pays through AdSense for YouTube on a monthly cycle. The milestones are different: finalized earnings are not the same as a payment being issued.
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Between the 7th and 12th | Prior-month earnings are finalized and posted to the payment account, subject to adjustments and account status. |
| By the 20th | Payment details must be settled and the balance must meet the payment threshold for the account’s reporting currency. If the threshold is not met, the balance rolls over. |
| Between the 21st and 26th | Google issues payment if requirements are met and there are no holds. A bank transfer may take up to seven working days after issue to complete. |
These are Google’s published payment-cycle windows, not a promise of a particular arrival date. Holds, missing payment details, threshold shortfalls, adjustments for invalid traffic or copyright claims and disputes, and other account issues can affect what is paid or when. Google also notes that some taxes on earnings from US viewers may apply; creators outside the US should check their own local tax obligations with the relevant tax authority. See YouTube’s payment-process guidance.
Common problems and what to check
- No Supers tab or card in Earn: Check channel eligibility, location, age requirement, monetization status, and whether the relevant module or addendum is available to accept. Meeting a general YPP threshold alone does not guarantee access.
- Super Chat is enabled but unavailable on a particular stream: Check whether the video is age-restricted, unlisted, private, Made for Kids, or a YouTube Giving fundraiser, and confirm live chat or comments are enabled.
- No payment arrived: Review the Payments page for the reporting-currency threshold, payment details, verification requests, and holds. Confirm the account met the payment requirements by the 20th; after Google issues a wire transfer, allow for bank processing, which may take up to seven working days.
- The credited amount is lower than expected: Compare the transfer and bank credit, then ask the bank about its exchange rate and any receiving or intermediary fees. YouTube earnings can also be adjusted for reasons such as invalid traffic or copyright matters.
- You cannot find an INR currency option: Google says payment currency cannot be changed. Check the currency displayed in your account and ask the bank how it converts incoming funds; do not infer the Google payout denomination from the local-currency credit.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your Super Chats come during a prerecorded 24/7 YouTube stream, StreamNeo can keep uploaded videos looping from the cloud: upload a recording or make a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; your videos stream as uploaded up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo streams to YouTube and plays uploaded videos; it does not broadcast a live camera feed. Learn more at StreamNeo, or start the free first day.
