Zojirushi’s sales and operating profit both rose in FY2025, but profit attributable to parent owners and basic earnings per share fell. That split is why “earnings growth” needs a precise definition: look at each income-statement layer, then check cash flow, the balance sheet and management’s forecast before drawing a conclusion about the stock.
The figures below are consolidated results under Japanese GAAP. Zojirushi’s fiscal year runs from November 21 through November 20; FY2025 covered November 21, 2024 to November 20, 2025. Its FY2025 results release was dated December 25, 2025. The company posted FY2026 second-quarter results and supplementary materials on June 29, 2026, so FY2025 is not the latest available reporting period. The figures here describe the annual trend and do not include those later interim results.
Start with sales and operating profit across the same fiscal years
Read sales and operating profit as a matched series rather than relying on a single annual change. The following amounts are in millions of yen, from Zojirushi’s official financial highlights:

Sales increased in each of the five fiscal years shown. Operating profit moved differently: it fell in FY2022, then rose in each of the next three years, reaching the series’ high in FY2025. The operating margin—the share of sales remaining as operating profit—was 8.2% in FY2025, up from 6.8% in FY2024 and 5.7% in FY2022. This combination indicates that the latest annual period had both higher sales and stronger operating profitability; it does not establish that all measures of earnings increased.

Separate operating profit from bottom-line earnings
“Earnings” can refer to different levels of the income statement. Operating profit reflects profit from operations; ordinary profit incorporates non-operating items; profit attributable to owners of the parent is the bottom-line amount attributable to the company’s parent shareholders. EPS expresses profit per share. Comparing these measures explains why Zojirushi’s FY2025 results were mixed rather than uniformly positive.

Thus, FY2025 brought stronger sales, operating profit and ordinary profit, alongside lower parent-attributable profit and EPS. A reader assessing performance should name the measure rather than summarize this as simple earnings growth. These annual figures alone do not explain the causes of the divergence.

Check whether reported profit is accompanied by cash
Cash flow provides a second view of performance. In FY2025, net cash provided by operating activities was ¥9,930 million, compared with ¥5,510 million in FY2024. At year-end, cash and cash equivalents were ¥29,568 million, down from ¥30,603 million a year earlier. The equity ratio was 75.0%, versus 75.3% in FY2024.

These measures add context on cash generation and the balance sheet, but they do not determine whether Zojirushi shares are attractively priced. A stock decision also requires valuation at the current share price, expected cash returns, risks and the investor’s own objectives.

Treat the FY2026 forecast as an expectation, not a result
In its FY2025 results release, Zojirushi forecast the following FY2026 consolidated figures:

The forecast implied modestly higher sales but lower operating, ordinary and parent-attributable profit than FY2025 actuals. These were management expectations in the release, not realized results. Zojirushi cautioned that forecasts rely on information then available and assumptions it considered reasonable, are not guaranteed, and actual results may differ significantly.

The company posted FY2026 second-quarter results and explanatory materials on June 29, 2026. The availability notice establishes that those documents were posted, but the figures above do not incorporate their contents. Consult the actual interim filing and later full-year results to assess performance against the forecast.

A practical checklist before making a stock decision
- Keep fiscal periods consistent: Zojirushi’s fiscal years end November 20, rather than following the calendar year.
- Compare sales growth with operating profit and operating margin to see whether profit from operations is keeping pace with revenue.
