If you mean a referral code, enter it during Cash App signup when prompted. A referral code is different from the confirmation code sent to verify your phone number or email, your Cash PIN, or an offer shown in the app. Each has a different purpose.

When the signup flow prompts you, enter the referral code. Cash App’s published terms say each referral code can be used once. The official terms establish that the code is entered during signup, but do not specify the current screen sequence or button labels. Cash App’s referral offer terms describe the code requirement.

Complete the offer’s other requirements, if you are eligible. The published offer is for new U.S. customers and describes a $10 bonus. It requires linking a new debit card or bank account, keeping it linked until payment, and sending $5 to another Cash App account within 14 days of entering the code. The recipient account cannot be owned by or linked to you. The terms say eligible bonuses are paid within 30 days after all requirements are completed. These are offer-specific terms, not a guarantee that every code or promotion has the same reward; check the terms attached to your offer. Know which kind of code you have
Signup confirmation code
Cash App begins signup with a phone number or email and sends a confirmation code. Enter the code you receive in the signup flow to verify the account. It is not a referral code and does not claim a referral bonus. Cash App’s signup explanation was dated May 1, 2026.
Cash PIN
Your Cash PIN is a four-digit security code used for logging in and withdrawing cash at ATMs. It is not a referral or promotion code; do not share it to claim an offer. Cash App’s account explanation

Offer or promotion
Cash App offers are shown to some customers, and each offer has its own eligibility and redemption instructions in the app. There is no universal promo-code entry flow established in the offer terms, so follow the instructions attached to your specific offer. The payment method matters: a card offer requires the specified Cash App Card or Cash App Tag transaction, while a Cash App Pay offer requires Cash App Pay. If the code or offer does not work

If you are entering a referral code, make sure you are still in signup and are using a code that has not already been used. The published terms describe referral codes as one-time use.

Protect your account
Cash App says its representatives will never ask for your password, PIN, or full debit card number. The Terms of Service list in-app chat, the official help site, and 1-800-969-1940 as support routes, and identify that number as the only phone number available for Cash App Support.
