Start with one to three YouTube membership levels, not all six the platform allows. Make the lowest tier a clear way to support the channel, then charge more only when a higher level adds a distinct benefit you can reliably deliver. Ask viewers what they value and use membership and retention data in YouTube Studio to refine the offer; there is no universal price or conversion benchmark for 24/7 livestream channels.
How many membership levels should you start with?
YouTube recommends starting with one to three price levels. Although a channel can create up to six, that is a platform maximum, not a target. A smaller ladder is easier for viewers to understand and limits the number of recurring promises a continuous-stream operation must manage.
YouTube allows one to five perks per level. Higher-priced levels inherit the perks of lower levels, and YouTube reviews proposed levels and perks before they are published. Design tiers around what members value—support, recognition, participation, exclusivity, or access—and what your channel can sustain. YouTube notes that some viewers join primarily to support a channel without expecting substantial perks. Say that plainly rather than promising high-touch service at the lowest price.

Support tier
Offer a low-friction way to contribute, with lightweight recognition such as a membership badge or emoji where available. Explain that the payment supports the channel and avoid implying that members receive personal attention if you cannot provide it consistently.
Participation tier
Add a repeatable way to take part, such as member posts or members-only chat during specified public streams, if those features suit your format. State when the benefit is available. Do not imply that payment guarantees a reply, priority attention, or continuous moderation unless the channel can actually provide it.

Premium tier
Charge more only for a meaningfully different experience, such as members-only streams or videos, that you can produce on a dependable schedule. Define the scope and cadence clearly. A 24/7 public stream does not itself mean you can provide 24/7 personal access.

Keep the Join description easy to compare: tell viewers what each level adds, when they receive it, and any limits. Because lower-level perks stack upward, a higher tier should not merely repeat the same offer for more money. YouTube’s documented benefit types include badges, emoji, member posts, early access, members-only live chat, members-only live streams, milestone chats, a recognition shelf, Shorts, and videos. How do you choose the prices?
There is no established ideal dollar amount for a particular channel. The right ladder depends on member geography, audience budget, existing joins and retention, staffing, stream format, and the cost and time required to deliver the perks. YouTube advises creators to weigh perk effort and cost against the value viewers may see in the offer. Avoid treating the number of perks as a pricing formula.
- Audience value: Is the offer mainly support, recognition, participation, exclusivity, or access?
- Delivery burden: How much recurring time, moderation, or production expense does it require?
- Scalability: Can you fulfill it for many members without labor rising in step with membership?
- Incremental value: What does this level add beyond the lower tier’s benefits?
- Geographic accessibility: How do the available local prices appear to members in their countries?
- Observed performance: What do joins and retention by level show after launch, and what do members say they value?
Membership is a monthly recurring payment for members-only perks. Super Chat and Super Stickers are separate fan-funding features viewers can use during livestreams or Premieres; they are not membership tiers. YouTube Help: YouTube Commerce Products monetization policies

How should you test and refine your tier ladder?
- Ask before adding complexity. Use a community post or poll to learn whether viewers want recognition, participation, exclusive programming, or simply a way to support the channel.
- Launch a small, distinct ladder. Start with one to three levels, make each offer understandable, and promise only benefits you can deliver as described.
- Review performance in YouTube Studio. Check membership by level, acquisition, and retention, then compare the numbers with member feedback. There is no sourced conversion-rate target specific to 24/7 livestreams, so use your channel’s own results rather than an invented benchmark.
- Adjust deliberately. Keep, revise, or add a level only when the evidence and delivery capacity justify it. YouTube’s guidance says price levels for new members can be adjusted once every 12 months after the last update; existing members remain at the price at which they joined. Verify the current rule and available Studio controls before planning a change.
How do regional prices affect members?
YouTube membership prices can differ by country or region, so the amount a creator sees should not be assumed to match what every member sees. YouTube’s UK price table gives one regional example and notes that pricing updates began rolling out in May 2025; confirm the currently offered prices for your channel’s audience in YouTube Studio rather than relying on a regional example.
