Checkbox V16 is a free Colorlib checkbox snippet with a hover effect and a minimalist, rounded design. You can preview and download it from Colorlib’s Checkbox V16 page. It is a starting point for a web form—not a verified accessibility-ready control—so check its behavior and licensing terms before using it in a project.
What Checkbox V16 includes
Colorlib describes V16 as a minimalist checkbox with rounded edges and a hover effect. The current collection also identifies disabled and checked-disabled options. The V16 page offers a preview and download; inspect the downloaded files to see their exact structure and dependencies.
Colorlib’s collection says its snippets can be used on their own or in Bootstrap 4, 5, or 6 projects. That is collection-level guidance, not confirmation of V16’s specific file requirements. The collection also says examples V11–V20 add a few lines of vanilla JavaScript, but the exact V16 download should be checked rather than assumed to have a particular setup.

Make sure it works as a checkbox
The collection’s general implementation guidance recommends retaining a real <input type="checkbox"> beneath custom styling. Connect the full label to that input so users can activate it by clicking the label, tab to it, and have its state announced by assistive technology. Make the label area large enough for touch use, and do not rely on color alone to distinguish checked, unchecked, or disabled states.
These are implementation recommendations, not confirmation that V16 itself meets accessibility requirements. The cited pages do not provide a V16-specific accessibility test or specification. Inspect the downloaded code and test the finished control with a keyboard and assistive technology before relying on it.

Choose the right control for the interaction
- Use a checkbox when a user selects one or more choices to submit with a form.
- Use a switch when a setting takes effect immediately after the user changes it.
- For “select all” lists, use an indeterminate state when only some items are selected.
If you are choosing among Colorlib examples, its collection describes V13 as round with hover and disabled states, V14 as square with rounded corners and hover while unselected, V16 as minimal and rounded with hover and disabled states, and V18 as a switch-focused option. Choose based on the interaction and visual fit, then verify the actual code and behavior of the download you use.
One date detail to keep in mind
Colorlib’s V16 page displays “March 5, 2021” as its page date, while its template details separately say “Released: 2025,” and the page title also carries 2025. Those fields conflict, so they do not establish a definitive release date. The collection page is dated September 28, 2026.
