To stop silence between songs, first find where it enters the chain: listen to the playlist output before encoding, then check the encoder and the stream viewers receive. If the gap is already in the playlist output, fix the player, transition settings, or audio files. If that output is continuous, investigate the encoder connection and delivery to YouTube. A 24/7 schedule alone does not guarantee uninterrupted audio.
Find out where the silence starts
A pause at a song boundary and a dropped stream segment may sound alike to a listener, but they point to different problems. Trace the audio from its source to the viewer rather than changing random encoder settings.
- Listen to the playlist output before it reaches the encoder. Monitor it directly or make a local recording that includes several song transitions. If the silence is present there, the cause is upstream: the player, playlist behavior, or the audio files.
- Check the signal arriving at the encoder. If the pre-encoder output is continuous, watch or record the encoder input and review its status and logs during a transition. A discontinuity here points toward the audio routing or encoder configuration.
- Compare that with the viewer-side stream. If the encoder input remains continuous but viewers hear a gap, inspect connection stability and segment delivery to YouTube. This source-to-viewer split is a practical diagnostic method, not a formal YouTube diagnostic procedure.
Test more than one transition, including the end of a full playlist cycle. A single clean transition does not establish that an unattended stream will stay continuous.

Check the player and playlist transitions
- Confirm the player advances automatically and is set to continuous or gapless playback if it offers that option. The exact control varies by software; no particular OBS playlist setting is established as a guarantee of gapless playback.
- Look for an intentional pause, fade, transition effect, or silence track between items. Disable or shorten it only if it is not part of the intended program.
- Confirm that the playlist is configured to repeat and that its end-of-list behavior does not pause before restarting.
- Monitor the output the encoder actually receives. The player interface can show that the next track is playing while a routing or playback problem leaves the encoder input silent.
Inspect the audio files
Listen to the end of the outgoing track and the beginning of the next one. Silence can be part of either recording, so a gapless player cannot remove quiet audio already present in the files. If you edit the files, check the transition again at normal playback speed and avoid cutting off a fade or the start of a vocal. Do not add a silence track as a supposed fix for a gap; it creates intentional silence.

- [XLR Mic Input] One XLR microphone input interface is set on the gaming audio mixer, which is great to up your audio quality with your XLR setup. The XLR mixer is a stepping stone to upgrade your live streaming. Audio mixer offered built-in 48V phantom power which opens up more choices for mics. Directly use it with your condenser microphone but do not solve added peripherals. (NOT available for USB mic)
- [Individual Channel Control] Gaming audio mixer for one mic recording with smooth volume slider fader take your streaming recording to a whole new level with full pleasure. Four independent channels set on the DJ mixer give audio volume of the MICROPHONE, LINE IN, HEADPHONE, and LINE OUT channels individual control. Configurable on the PC audio mixer instead of just operating on your game or streaming software.
- [Mute and Monitor] The front mute and monitor buttons but not at the back, make it easier to get the audio interface use. Ability to mute audio, the audio mixer for streaming prevents background noise from damaging your live broadcast. Real-time feedback between speaking and hearing will not distract your attention, which encourage you to speak more confidently. The sturdy-built control button allow you to operate freely and easily during live streaming.
- [Sound Effects] The computer sound mixer supports four pre-recorded customized button that can be recorded and activated at the press of button to post production. 6 kinds of voice changing modes change your output style. 12 auto tune changes the tone of your voice. The podcast mixer being able to add different and fun effects is a huge bonus for your streaming or game voice.
- [Controllable Vibrant RGB] RGB button on the audio mixer DJ meets different live streaming themes. Lights on the video mixer is vibrant but not harsh on your eyes. Flowing or frozen RGB color rotation in a decent pace presents a greatly strong impression as a "light show" to your audience. Even a streaming equipment accessory will not be dull looking when video production.
If the source is continuous, check delivery to YouTube
Keep the encoder sending a continuous audio/video feed, then investigate any interruption between encoder output and YouTube ingestion. YouTube’s encoder setup asks you to enter the YouTube Live server URL and stream key in the encoder. Use the current values and instructions shown for your live event in YouTube’s encoder setup guide; do not expose or share the stream key.
Check connection stability and segment failures
For DASH ingestion, YouTube says a failed media-segment PUT corresponds to a gap in the video stream. Its guidance recommends retrying with randomized binary exponential backoff and signaling repeated failures to the encoder operator. If you operate a DASH encoder, check that its implementation handles retries and alerts accordingly. Those HTTP-specific instructions are for DASH; do not apply them blindly to a different ingestion protocol. See YouTube’s DASH ingestion guide.

- 6 channel standalone mixer (No USB)
- Featuring studio grade discrete class A D PRE preamps with inverted Darlington circuit: Providing fat, natural sounding bass and smooth, soaring highs
- 3 band EQ and high pass filters give you maximum control and eliminate unwanted noise, resulting in a cleaner mix
- 1 Knob compressors allow easy control: Resulting in livelier guitars, punchier bass lines, a tighter snare and a cleaner vocal sound.
- MG Series mixers feature a rugged, impact resistant, powder coated metal chassis
YouTube’s DASH guide recommends target segments of one to five seconds as a trade-off between ingestion performance and latency. That is a delivery recommendation, not a way to remove silence baked into a playlist or file.
Understand HLS requirements without mistaking them for a gapless setting
For YouTube HLS ingestion, the official guide specifies muxed audio and video in M2TS, H.264 or HEVC video, AAC audio, one audio track, and media segments lasting one to four seconds. These are ingestion constraints, not a setting that makes songs transition without a pause. YouTube’s help explanation describes HLS as having higher latency than continuous RTMP; choose a supported protocol based on your encoder and latency needs, not as a presumed cure for source-level gaps. Details are in YouTube’s HLS ingestion guide.

Keep a scheduled broadcast recoverable
Review the broadcast lifecycle and reconnect behavior in the current YouTube and encoder interfaces. The OBS Project’s YouTube guide says that enabling auto-stop removes the possibility of reconnecting later to continue that broadcast. It also cautions that a broadcast can eventually end after multiple hours without input. The guide is marked as a work in progress, so confirm the controls in the OBS and YouTube versions you use: OBS’s guide to streaming to YouTube.
OBS’s guide describes normal latency as having the least viewer buffering, while low and ultra-low latency are more exposed to buffering when ingestion has issues. For an unattended music stream, smooth playback may matter more than fast audience interaction; choose latency based on how the channel is used rather than treating a lower setting as a gap-prevention fix.

Monitor and test an unattended stream
A stream marked “live” can still have silent audio. Arrange monitoring for both the audio source and the viewer-side stream, and alerts for silence or encoder/network failure. The sources here do not prescribe a specific silence-detection tool, so verify any monitoring method with a deliberate test.

If you need an archive of a longer-running broadcast, plan for that separately rather than assuming the automatic archive covers it. See YouTube’s encoder setup and broadcast guidance.

Keep music rights separate from playback reliability
A technically continuous stream is not necessarily authorized. Playing a recording locally, owning a copy, or being able to include it in a playlist does not by itself grant livestream rights. A vendor document warns that YouTube may terminate streams or restrict public broadcasting for copyright violations; see CamStreamer’s YouTube integration use case. Confirm that you have the rights needed to broadcast each recording.
