To keep a PRISM Live Studio broadcast going after a prerecorded video ends, make sure the outgoing scene still has live content: enable a repeat option if your installed PRISM Desktop version exposes one, or arrange another persistent source or scene and rehearse the handoff. PRISM’s published media-source guide does not document a loop-at-end control, so verify the behavior in your version rather than assuming a particular setting exists.
First identify what is ending
A video source and a YouTube live session are separate parts of a broadcast. A local media file can finish playing while the session may still be active; conversely, YouTube can end a session for reasons unrelated to the clip. PRISM’s public Desktop guide explains how to add local media and its playback behavior, but does not specify what happens to the YouTube stream when a file ends or document a loop control. Check YouTube’s live status when the video reaches its end. If the live remains OnAir, the immediate issue is source playback or scene continuity. If the live is OffAir, investigate the connection, platform state, and possible policy or time-limit causes instead of treating the clip ending as the sole explanation.
Prevent a gap in PRISM Desktop
Check for a repeat option in the installed version
- Open PRISM Desktop and select the scene containing the prerecorded video.
- Open that video media source’s properties and look for a loop or repeat control. The public guide does not document such a control, and labels can vary by installed build; do not rely on a setting unless you can see it in your version.
- If a repeat option is available, enable it and run a short rehearsal. Watch through the file’s end and confirm that playback restarts and the YouTube live remains active.
If there is no repeat control
Prepare the outgoing scene so that another persistent source or scene can provide content after the clip. For example, arrange a continuous visual source to remain on screen, or rehearse a change to a scene that contains ongoing content. Check that the transition happens before the outgoing scene becomes empty, then confirm in YouTube that the stream is still receiving content.

This is practical continuity advice based on how sources contribute to a scene, not a confirmed PRISM-specific loop recipe. PRISM’s guide documents local media use, but the reviewed public material does not establish an exact setting or guarantee the behavior at the end of a clip. Test the complete handoff in a short rehearsal before relying on it.
What PRISM Mobile’s Keep Session control does
PRISM Mobile’s “KEEP” or “Keep Session” option concerns the YouTube session, not replaying a finished video. PRISM says YouTube may leave a live OnAir after device streaming ends; keeping the session can make it available to resume later. The separate resume guide says the described mobile resume feature is supported for channels with more than 50 subscribers. That threshold is stated by PRISM without a publication year on the page, so check the current app and channel eligibility. Use Keep Session only when you want to preserve or resume the session. It does not restart the media item or make a completed video loop.
If YouTube says the live has ended
PRISM’s troubleshooting guidance says the app checks whether the destination live remains OnAir and stops its own streaming after confirming that the destination stream has ended. It lists abnormal stream processing, platform policy enforcement, and maximum stream time among possible reasons for a destination-side end. PRISM Live Studio: Stream Has Ended

- Unstable transmission or device processing: Check the network and whether the device can sustain the stream. Review PRISM’s stream status and YouTube’s live status to distinguish a transmission interruption from a clip ending.
- Policy enforcement: Check YouTube Studio for a notice or restriction. Do not assume that a playback or scene adjustment can resolve a platform policy action.
- Possible time limit: Consult the destination’s current live status and platform guidance. PRISM’s troubleshooting page says YouTube has no maximum stream-time limit under its current guidance, but that does not prevent a stream from ending for other reasons.
PRISM’s troubleshooting page also notes that YouTube automatic archiving is supported only for streams under 12 hours. That is an archive threshold, not a clip-loop setting and not a way to keep a live running after its content ends.
End the broadcast deliberately
When you want the broadcast to stop, use PRISM’s End or Finish control. PRISM warns that its transmission may continue after the platform appears to have ended, so confirm that the session has actually stopped rather than relying on the YouTube display alone. Its FAQ confirms that media files such as videos, images, and audio clips can be used in a live stream; that does not mean a completed clip will repeat automatically. PRISM Live Studio FAQ
