If “Hellfire world boss” means Doom Lord Kazzak in World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic, prepare for a short damage race: get a tank established immediately, keep that tank alive, use DPS cooldowns at the pull, and have every mana user ready to move away if marked. This guide is specific to that interpretation; it does not cover every game called Hellfire or every version of WoW.
Confirm the boss and version before you organize
Doom Lord Kazzak is the likely match for this title. A third-party encounter guide published December 9, 2025, places him at the Throne of Kil’jaeden in Hellfire Peninsula, around coordinates 63.2, 16.0. It says normal access requires a flying mount; a Warlock can summon other raid members after a flying player reaches the area. The guide’s patch and realm applicability are not established, so check the encounter in your intended game version before relying on exact mechanics or numbers. Boosting Ground’s Outland world-boss guide is the source for these details.
Do not confuse Kazzak with Doomwalker. Doomwalker is a separate Outland world boss, which the same guide places near the Black Temple in Shadowmoon Valley. His positioning and phase advice differ; see the comparison below.
What gear and build should you use?
Prepare a capable tank, bring the recommended full set of consumables and raid buffs, and favor a build that lets each player perform their assigned role reliably. The available encounter guide supports those broad priorities, but it does not establish class-by-class builds, best-in-slot gear, named consumables, or a numeric gear-score threshold. Those specifics should not be guessed: verify them for your class and exact game version and realm.
#1 Best Overall
- Tanks: Be geared and ready to generate threat immediately; the guide reports heavy incoming melee damage.
- Healers: Plan to sustain the tank through the opening and keep healing coordinated.
- DPS: Have offensive cooldowns ready for the pull rather than saving them for later.
- Mana users: Know the response to Mark of Kazzak before combat begins.
Assign roles before the pull
Tank
Establish firm aggro as soon as Kazzak is engaged and stay alive through the reported heavy hits. The third-party guide gives a range of 7,000–15,000 damage per strike; treat that as its report, not an independently verified or official value for every version.
Healers
Prioritize tank survival from the opening. Coordinate healing so the tank can withstand the initial burst while the group deals damage.

DPS
Use offensive cooldowns immediately on engagement. The guide reports a 54-second hard enrage, making early damage more useful than waiting to stack cooldowns later. Both the timer and the damage figures here are reported by the December 9, 2025 third-party guide; their applicability to a particular patch or realm is not established.

The guide describes Mark of Kazzak as draining mana and eventually causing an explosion. Anyone marked should move away from the raid promptly. Mages can use Ice Block to remove the mark, according to the guide. Before the pull, choose a direction for marked players to move so they do not have to improvise in the middle of the fight.

Everyone in and around the raid
Avoid deaths near Kazzak. The guide says his Capture Soul effect heals him for 150,000 damage when a nearby player dies, including a player outside the raid that tagged him. That makes preventing deaths part of the damage plan, not just a survival precaution. This is a reported figure from the third-party guide, not an independently confirmed value for all versions.
Pre-pull checklist for Kazzak
- Confirm that the encounter is Doom Lord Kazzak in the intended WoW version and realm.
- Arrange a flying mount to reach the Throne of Kil’jaeden, or have a Warlock summon the rest of the group after a flying player arrives.
- Bring consumables and raid buffs appropriate to your version; the guide does not name a definitive list.
- Assign the tank and make sure healers are ready to support the opening.
- Tell DPS to use offensive cooldowns at the start.
- Brief mana users on Mark of Kazzak and agree which way they should move if targeted.
- Remind everyone to avoid deaths near the boss because of the reported Capture Soul healing effect.
If you meant Doomwalker instead
Doomwalker is a different boss in Shadowmoon Valley, not another encounter in Hellfire Peninsula. The same third-party guide recommends spacing players at least 10 yards apart for Lightning Wrath, preparing for Earthquake damage, and expecting an enrage when Doomwalker falls below 20% health. It also warns that guardian-type summons can add targets to Lightning Wrath’s chain. These are guide-reported recommendations and values, not verified rules for every game version or realm.

Check the current encounter rules in the version you are playing before treating its exact figures as definitive.
