To stream a Punjabi music playlist on YouTube around the clock, first clear the rights for every song and recording, then prepare a looping audio-video source, connect an encoder to YouTube Live Control Room, and test the feed before going public. Plan the broadcast as managed sessions rather than assuming one uninterrupted 24-hour stream will produce a complete archive: YouTube says streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all, and DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable.

1. Clear every song and recording for livestream use

Before assembling the playlist, make an inventory of each musical work and each sound recording. Confirm that your permissions cover livestreaming, the countries where the stream will be available, and the intended duration and use. Rights for a song and rights for a particular recording may involve different rightsholders, so check both.

Buying a track, owning a copy, crediting the artist, or having permission to upload a song as an ordinary video does not by itself establish that you may livestream it. The legal status of any particular Punjabi playlist depends on its tracks, recordings, territories, rightsholders, and agreements.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects content, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you to stop using it; if the content remains, the broadcast may be temporarily interrupted or terminated. YouTube advises creators with licensed third-party material to ask the owner to add their channel to the Content ID allowlist. Coordinate this with the relevant label or distributor before going live; a license document alone does not guarantee that automated matching will not interrupt a stream. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and YouTube for Artists’ guidance for music channels.

2. Make sure the channel can livestream

YouTube’s general eligibility guidance requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. Its general live-stream guidance also says creators must be at least 16. Check the current requirements for your channel in YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.

If this is the channel’s first live broadcast, enable and verify livestreaming well in advance. YouTube for Artists recommends doing this at least 24 hours before the planned broadcast. Do not leave channel eligibility checks until the day you intend to launch.

3. Prepare the playlist video and confirm repeat playback

Use an encoder workflow that can play your prepared audio-video playlist and send it to YouTube Live. Assemble the tracks and visuals in the chosen workflow, check the order and transitions, and confirm that playback repeats when it reaches the end. Repeat controls differ by application; YouTube’s encoder setup documentation does not prescribe a universal loop setting, so test the actual encoder you plan to use.

Choose an encoder based on compatibility with your operating system and media, repeat-playback controls, supported YouTube ingest protocol, latency needs, local recording, monitoring, and recovery after a power or connection failure. The available guidance does not establish a best encoder model or a universal continuity design.

4. Create the YouTube stream and connect the encoder

  1. Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Create or schedule the broadcast using the channel that has the necessary music permissions.
  2. Copy the stream URL and stream key. Enter them in the encoder’s YouTube or custom-server settings as applicable. Treat the key like a password: anyone who has it may be able to send video to your stream. YouTube explains stream URL and key handling in Manage live stream settings.
  3. Select an ingest protocol your encoder supports. Follow the setup for that protocol rather than mixing instructions for different methods. YouTube documents encoder setup and starting or stopping an encoder stream at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
  4. Start the encoder and wait for the incoming feed. Check the Live Control Room preview before making the broadcast public. Confirm that the intended playlist video and audio are reaching YouTube.

If you specifically use HLS

HLS is a protocol-specific option, not a requirement for every encoder stream. YouTube’s HLS guidance specifies one-to-four-second segments, TS segment format, a rolling playlist with no more than five outstanding segments, and HTTPS POST/PUT. HLS has higher latency than RTMP-style continuous delivery. Use these settings only when configuring HLS, and follow YouTube’s current instructions at Set up an HLS stream and Delivering Live YouTube Content via HLS.

5. Test the feed before publishing

  • Play through the playlist, including its ending and restart, to confirm that repeat behavior works.
  • Review the Live Control Room preview for the correct video, audio, and stream destination.
  • Monitor audio and video quality during a test, and verify any local recording can be played back.
  • Confirm the playlist contains only material cleared for this livestream and that any required Content ID allowlisting has been coordinated.

YouTube recommends testing, previewing, monitoring stream quality, and checking archive integrity. These checks help catch avoidable setup errors; they do not guarantee uninterrupted 24/7 uptime. See YouTube streaming tips.

6. Plan sessions and archives for a 24/7 channel presence

A channel can maintain a 24/7 presence through managed broadcast sessions, but that is not the same as relying on one stream to run indefinitely. YouTube says a stream under 12 hours can be automatically archived; if it exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all. YouTube recommends keeping a local archive backup. Plan how the operator will manage sessions, local recordings, and recovery, and check each archive rather than assuming a complete VOD will appear. The cited guidance does not prescribe one best session-rotation method. Read Archive live streams.

Viewers may also lose rewind access on very long broadcasts: YouTube says DVR capabilities can be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. See Turn on DVR on live streams.

Common problems and what to check

Symptom What to check
The encoder cannot connect to YouTube Confirm that you copied the correct stream URL and key into the encoder, selected a protocol it supports, and are sending to the intended broadcast.
The playlist stops at the end Check the encoder’s repeat or loop behavior directly. Do not assume YouTube will repeat the source for you.
The live stream is interrupted after music is detected Review YouTube’s copyright notice, confirm the relevant livestream permissions, and ask the rightsholder to allowlist your channel through Content ID if the content is licensed.
A long broadcast has no complete archive or rewind Streams over 12 hours may not be captured, and DVR may be limited or unavailable. Use a local recording and plan managed sessions if archive continuity matters.
Audio or video is wrong in the broadcast Use the Live Control Room preview and encoder monitoring to verify the source, audio, and video before publishing; test the playlist and local recording.
