To play Quiplash on most smart TVs, run the game on a compatible computer or console and show that device’s screen on the TV. Each player joins at jackbox.tv on a phone or tablet using the room code on the screen. A separate Netflix Games option is available for The Jackbox Party Essentials, which includes Quiplash 3, on compatible devices where the games tab is available.
What you need
- A computer or game console that can run the Quiplash edition you want to play, or a compatible TV or browser with access to Netflix’s games tab for The Jackbox Party Essentials.
- A way to display the host device’s game screen on the TV. The connection method depends on your devices; there is no single method established for every smart TV.
- A phone or tablet for each player to join and enter answers.
Jackbox’s Quiplash product listing identifies computer versions and says Jackbox games are available on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and other platforms. Confirm that the specific edition is offered for your platform before buying. The official sources do not establish a universal native smart-TV app for Quiplash.
How to play through a computer or console
- Choose the host device and edition. Start Quiplash on a computer or console that supports the edition you intend to play.
- Show the game on your TV. Connect or display the computer or console’s picture using a method supported by your devices. The appropriate cable, casting feature, or other connection varies by setup.
- Open the join page. On each player’s phone or tablet, go to jackbox.tv.
- Enter the room code. Players type the four-digit code shown on the game screen, then use their devices to answer prompts and play.
Jackbox describes phones and tablets as the devices players use to answer prompts; they do not replace the host device displaying the game.

Jackbox’s Netflix TV instructions describe playing The Jackbox Party Essentials from the Netflix games tab on a compatible TV or browser when that tab is available. The collection includes Quiplash 3. If using a phone as the controller on this route, Netflix requires the Netflix Game Controller app.

This option is specific to the collection and Quiplash 3. It does not mean that every smart TV supports every Quiplash edition. Check whether Netflix Games and the collection are available for your device and region before relying on this route.

Players and remote friends
Jackbox’s listing for the original Quiplash states that it supports 3–8 players and an audience. That count is for the original game listing; check the listing for your edition rather than assuming all versions have the same player limit. The listing’s reference to an audience does not guarantee a particular audience size on every platform or connection.
For remote play, Jackbox describes screen-sharing services and Steam Remote Play Together. When starting a new game, hide the lobby while invited players join, and send the room code privately before revealing the game screen. That helps prevent uninvited viewers from entering.
