The simplest documented way to play Croc: Legend of the Gobbos on a modern Windows PC is to get its PC remaster through Steam or GOG. Steam publishes minimum system requirements; check them against your computer before buying. If you specifically want the original 1997 PC release, current Windows compatibility and setup instructions have not been confirmed by the official sources cited here.
Choose the PC remaster on Steam or GOG
Both storefronts list a PC edition of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos. Steam lists the game as a remaster of the 1997 release, published by Argonaut Games and developed by Titanium Studios and Big Boat Interactive. Its listed release date is October 17, 2025. GOG lists Croc Legend of the Gobbos Platinum Edition. Check the edition and current listing details on your chosen store before purchase, since storefront information can change.

Steam’s listing specifies these minimums for Windows PC. They are the publisher’s stated requirements, not the result of independent performance testing; no recommended requirements are provided here.

What the remaster advertises
Steam describes the remaster as having enhanced HD graphics, an updated camera, modern control mechanics, and retro video modes. The listing also describes 45 levels across five worlds. These are product-listing claims, not independently tested performance or gameplay findings.

If you want the original 1997 PC release
The official materials cited here do not provide current Windows compatibility instructions or a guarantee that the original PC version will run on a modern installation. They also do not establish a verified emulator, compatibility layer, patch, or setup procedure. If playing the original release specifically is essential, do not assume the remaster is the same edition or rely on an unverified download or workaround.

Do not confuse it with the Croc 2 remaster
Argonaut Games announced on October 1, 2026 that development of the separate Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos remaster was complete, with its digital launch planned for October 29, 2026, including Windows PC. That announcement concerns the sequel, not the original Croc: Legend of the Gobbos remaster discussed above.
