Connect your TV or streaming device to Airtel Xstream Fiber Wi-Fi, open YouTube, find the radio playlist, and press play. Fiber supplies the internet connection; the TV still needs a YouTube app or a compatible device such as an Airtel Xstream Box. You can also cast YouTube from a phone on a compatible setup.
What you need
- An Airtel Xstream Fiber connection with its Wi-Fi network available.
- A TV with the YouTube app, or a streaming device with YouTube support.
- The Wi-Fi password, if the TV or device is not already connected.
Airtel Xstream Fiber provides internet access; it does not add YouTube to a television by itself. Airtel documents YouTube and Chromecast support on its Xstream Box. The exact menus and available features vary by TV and device.
Play the playlist on your TV
- Choose where to play it. Use the TV’s YouTube app if available. Otherwise, use a streaming device that supports YouTube. Airtel says YouTube is pre-installed on the Xstream Box; a box is not necessary if your TV already has YouTube.
- Connect the TV or device to Airtel Wi-Fi. Open its network settings, select your home Wi-Fi network, and enter the password. Airtel says Xstream TV needs Wi-Fi or a mobile hotspot for internet access. Menu names depend on the model.
- Open YouTube. Search by playlist name, station, genre, or creator. Select the playlist and start playback. YouTube’s playlist layout and search results can vary; Airtel’s device guide does not specify a particular radio playlist interface.
- Use the TV remote to control playback. Select tracks or playlist controls in the YouTube app. Available controls depend on the app and device.
Choose the setup that fits your TV

Airtel describes the Xstream Box as a way to add smart-TV functions to a regular TV, but its documentation does not establish that it is the best or cheapest choice for every household.
Cast YouTube from your phone
- Connect the phone and compatible TV or Xstream Box to the home network.
- Open YouTube on the phone and choose the cast control.
- Select the TV or box from the available devices, then start the playlist.
Device discovery and casting controls depend on the phone, TV or box, app, and network setup. If casting is unavailable, play the playlist directly in the TV’s YouTube app instead.

TV playback is not the same as phone background play
YouTube says Premium benefits such as ad-free music videos are available on supported TV-connected devices when signed in. Its support guidance distinguishes this from offline and background play, which are available in the YouTube, YouTube Kids, and YouTube Music mobile apps; YouTube Music is not available as a living-room device app. Do not assume a TV will keep playing with its screen off. Membership features can change. On 12 March 2026, Google’s YouTube Team announced a rollout in India of background play and downloads with Premium Lite for most videos, distinguishing that from full YouTube Premium background play for music content and YouTube Music Premium. Check YouTube’s announcement and the current membership terms for eligibility; do not assume the same feature is available on a TV.

If the playlist will not play
- YouTube is missing: Check whether the TV offers the YouTube app. If not, use a compatible streaming device; the Xstream Box is one documented option.
- The device cannot connect: Confirm that it is connected to the home Wi-Fi and that the password is correct. Airtel also documents mobile-hotspot internet access for Xstream TV.
- Your phone cannot find the TV: Check that the TV or box supports casting and that both devices are on the home network. If it still does not appear, use the TV’s YouTube app.
- The screen turns off or playback stops: TV playback behavior varies by device and settings. YouTube documents background play for mobile apps, not as a general TV feature.
- You are unsure which controls to use: Look for the playlist and playback controls in the YouTube app on that particular TV or box; navigation differs by model and app version.
