First identify what you mean by a “YouTube streaming server”: paying for YouTube Premium, paying Google Cloud to run your own server, or setting up a YouTube Live stream are different tasks. For YouTube Premium, UPI may be available at YouTube or Google Play checkout; for Google Cloud, UPI billing is limited to eligible organizations in India. You do not buy a server from YouTube to start a live stream.

YouTube’s live-streaming workflow uses a stream URL and stream key to send a feed to YouTube; it does not describe a server sold by YouTube. See YouTube’s encoder setup instructions and live stream settings.
Pay for YouTube Premium with UPI
Google Play India documents UPI as a payment method for subscriptions and UPI AutoPay for recurring subscriptions, including YouTube Premium. PhonePe and Google Pay can be used as UPI apps when an eligible option appears in your checkout. The exact choices depend on your account, country, and billing platform; do not assume that either app will appear for every subscriber.
- Open YouTube or Google Play and begin the YouTube Premium subscription checkout for your account.
- Review the payment methods offered on that checkout screen. Select UPI if it is available; follow the displayed flow to choose or open your UPI app.
- In PhonePe or Google Pay, verify the payment request and approve it. If checkout asks you to set up a UPI AutoPay mandate for recurring billing, review the mandate details and authorize it in your UPI app.
- Return to YouTube or Google Play and confirm that the subscription is active. Check the subscription and payment settings there for renewal or cancellation details.
Google’s help pages describe accepted payment methods and note that options can vary by country and billing platform. Follow the methods actually shown in your checkout rather than relying on an older list of preferred UPI apps: Google Play payment methods in India and YouTube Premium payment methods.

Google Play India says netbanking was discontinued as an accepted payment method from October 2025 until further notice. Payment methods can change, so check the current checkout and Google Play help page.
Use UPI for Google Cloud server billing only if eligible
Google Cloud documents UPI billing for qualified organizations in India paying in INR—not as a universal payment option for every personal account. Its requirements include an Indian billing address and bank account, plus a configured and registered UPI account. Google also says an initial prepayment, typically ₹500–₹1,000, is required before UPI can be used. That is a setup requirement; confirm the current amount and eligibility on Google Cloud’s help page before proceeding.

- Check that your organization and Google Cloud billing account meet the stated India and INR eligibility requirements.
- In Google Cloud Billing, open the payment-method settings for the billing account and add UPI if the option is available.
- Complete Google’s requested initial prepayment and register or configure the UPI account as directed.
- Use the available manual payment or monthly recurring payment option shown for your account, and verify the billing account’s payment status.
For the current requirements, see Google Cloud’s UPI payment guidance and instructions for adding or updating a payment method. If UPI is not offered, do not treat that as proof that a personal account can force-enable it; contact Cloud Billing or use a payment method the account supports.

If your goal is to broadcast a live feed, create or schedule the stream in YouTube Studio and send video from an encoder. YouTube supplies the stream URL and key; they are connection details, not a server purchase. The exact encoder controls vary by software, so follow the encoder’s instructions as well as YouTube’s setup guide.

- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and open its stream settings.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube Studio. Treat the key like a password: anyone who has it may be able to send a feed to your stream.
- Enter the URL and key in your encoder’s YouTube streaming destination settings.
- Start the encoder, then check the YouTube Studio preview and stream status before going live to viewers.
YouTube’s documentation says to create a stream key in YouTube and enter it into your encoder. Its streaming tips cover additional setup guidance. This workflow does not charge you for a “YouTube streaming server”; any separate encoder, cloud computing, or streaming-service costs come from the provider you choose.

Common payment and setup problems
- PhonePe or Google Pay is missing at Premium checkout: Payment options vary by account, country, and billing platform. Use a UPI option only if the checkout offers one; otherwise choose another displayed method or check Google’s current payment guidance.
- The subscription payment is pending or failed: Check the UPI app for a request, rejection, or mandate approval that still needs action. Then verify the subscription status in YouTube or Google Play before attempting payment again.
- Google Cloud does not show UPI: Check the organization, INR billing, Indian billing address and bank account, and UPI setup requirements. UPI is not documented as available for every personal Cloud account.
- YouTube Studio shows no incoming feed: Confirm that the encoder is using the current stream URL and key for the correct scheduled stream, and that the encoder has actually started sending. Avoid sharing the key; if it may be exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- You expected YouTube to provide a looping server: YouTube Live receives an encoder’s stream. For continuous prerecorded playback, arrange your own computer or cloud-based third-party service; StreamNeo is one YouTube-only option.
