To pause a Distill.io monitor, open the Watchlist and switch that monitor off. To remove it, select it and click the trash button; Distill says this moves the monitor to trash. You can also switch off several monitors at once with Batch Edit → Switch OFF.
Pause one monitor in Distill.io
- Open the Watchlist from the Distill browser extension, or sign in to the Distill web app. The Watchlist is where you view and manage monitors: What is Watchlist?
- Find the monitor you want to pause.
- Click its ON/OFF button to switch it off. Distill describes this as turning off the monitor, rather than deleting it: Distill Chrome Extension – Monitor Website Changes.
Pause several monitors at once
- In the Watchlist, select the monitors using their checkboxes.
- Click Batch Edit.
- Choose Switch OFF.
In the web app, the dropdown beside an individual monitor also provides quick actions. The extension and web app both provide access to the Watchlist, as described in Distill’s Watchlist guide.
Delete a monitor
- Select the monitor in the Watchlist.
- Click the trash button.
Distill’s instructions say this moves the monitor to trash. They do not specify in the cited guidance whether you can restore a trashed monitor or when it is permanently removed. Check the current account interface or Distill help if you need to know whether deletion can be undone.

If you want to stop local checks generally, open the extension menu and choose Turn Local Monitoring OFF. This is different from switching an individual monitor off in the Watchlist. Distill defines local monitors as checks run using a browser or PC, while cloud monitors run on Distill’s servers. Its guidance does not describe a different Watchlist pause or delete procedure for the two types. See Local Monitor vs. Cloud Monitor.
