To connect a phone to Mercedes-Benz Bluetooth, turn on Bluetooth on the phone, open the vehicle’s Phone or device-connection menu, search for the phone, select it, and confirm the matching pairing code on both screens. Menu names differ by model, year, and infotainment system, so treat the steps below as a model-specific example rather than a universal path.
Pair a phone with Mercedes-Benz Bluetooth
These steps follow the 2023 CLA Coupe MBUX operator’s manual. Your Mercedes may use different screen labels or menu placement; use the matching owner’s manual if the options do not appear as described.

Turn on Bluetooth on your phone.

On the vehicle display, open Home, then Phone. In the cited CLA quick-start instructions, Bluetooth can be activated under Settings → System → Internet and Bluetooth.

Open the device search or connection controls and choose Connect New Device.

Select your phone from the list of discovered devices.

Compare the code shown on the vehicle display with the code on your phone. Confirm the pairing on the phone only if the codes match.
The sequence is documented for the 2023 CLA Coupe with MBUX, not for every Mercedes-Benz model or year. See the 2023 CLA Coupe operator’s manual or consult the manual for your specific vehicle if your menu labels differ.

Bluetooth pairing or Android Auto?
Bluetooth pairing connects the phone to the vehicle for functions such as calls and media. Android Auto is a separate smartphone-integration mode that brings supported phone apps to the vehicle’s multimedia display; its setup is not the same as basic Bluetooth pairing.
For wired Android Auto, the 2025 CLA Saloon owner’s manual specifies connecting a suitable cable to a multimedia-system USB port. That cable instruction applies to wired Android Auto, not ordinary Bluetooth pairing. Options and connection methods can vary by vehicle. See the 2025 CLA Saloon owner’s manual.
What to check if the phone does not appear

Confirm Bluetooth is enabled on the phone and that Bluetooth is active in the vehicle.

When a pairing code appears, compare the codes on the car and phone before authorizing the connection.
If these checks do not match the screens in your vehicle, look up the model- and year-specific instructions rather than assuming another Mercedes system uses the same menus.
