To connect a Bluetooth mirror for audio, turn on the mirror’s speaker, put it in pairing mode if required, then select its exact Bluetooth name in your phone’s Bluetooth settings. The name and pairing controls vary by model, so check the mirror’s manual first. If you mean setting up a smart mirror in an app or smart-home system, that is a different process from pairing it as an audio speaker.
Before pairing, identify what you want Bluetooth to do
Bluetooth mirrors do not all work the same way. Some use Bluetooth to play audio from a phone; others use it during app-based setup. Find the mirror’s brand and model on its label, packaging, or manual, then follow the instructions for that model.
- For audio: Pair the phone with the mirror’s speaker and play sound from the phone.
- For smart-home or app setup: Follow the mirror maker’s commissioning instructions. Bluetooth may be only one part of setup, not the audio connection.
How to pair a phone with a Bluetooth mirror for audio
- Turn on the mirror’s speaker and enable Bluetooth on your phone.
- Put the mirror into pairing mode if its manual requires it. Look for a blinking light or icon that signals it is ready.
- Open the phone’s Bluetooth settings and select the exact device name shown in the mirror’s instructions.
- Once connected, play audio on the phone. Adjust the volume using the controls specified by the mirror’s manual.
For example, ad notam’s Smart Mirror FAQ says to select “ad notam BT” in the phone’s Bluetooth menu; it says no PIN is required and the phone’s volume buttons control the stream. The vendor gives 10 m as the typical indoor range for that product, not a guaranteed range for other mirrors or room layouts. ad notam Smart Mirror FAQ

These steps are product-specific examples, not a universal procedure. Use your own mirror’s manual if its button, indicator, or Bluetooth name differs.

If the mirror does not appear in Bluetooth settings
- Confirm the mirror and its speaker are powered on, and Bluetooth is enabled on the phone.
- Move the phone close to the mirror during pairing.
- Check the mirror’s instructions for the exact advertised name and the cue that indicates pairing mode.
- Exit and re-enter pairing mode, then scan for devices again.
- Restart the phone and mirror if they still do not find each other. Samsung’s general guidance also recommends checking that both devices are on and testing the phone with another Bluetooth device to help isolate the problem; menus can vary by device and software version. If the phone connects but no sound comes from the mirror
First check that audio is playing on the phone and that the phone’s volume is up. On the ad notam Smart Mirror, the FAQ says another connected user may be the reason audio is silent. It says more than one smartphone may be connected, but audio plays from one at a time: the phone whose user most recently pressed play takes over. Do not assume another mirror handles multiple phones the same way. Check its manual for audio-source selection and connection limits.

How to clear a previous pairing on an iHome Hollywood Pro
If the phone cannot reconnect to an iHome Hollywood Pro, iHome’s instructions say to hold the mirror’s Bluetooth button for ten seconds to clear a previous connection, then try pairing again. Bluetooth audio pairing versus smart-mirror setup
Connecting a phone to a mirror’s speaker is not the same as adding an app-controlled mirror to a smart-home system. For the LIFX Mirror, Bluetooth is used during phone setup, which continues through a Matter code or a manual Wi-Fi flow. If scanning the code fails, LIFX advises checking Wi-Fi, reopening the app, restarting the mirror, and entering the Matter code manually.
