There is no documented one-click way to transfer a Restream playlist into Gyre. The practical route is to keep your original video files, record the playlist and stream details, rebuild the playlist in Gyre, authorize the same YouTube channel, test it, then switch the live stream. Do not assume the existing event, stream link, or Restream metadata will carry over.

Before you move the stream

Save the files and record the setup

Keep a copy of each original video outside Restream. Before changing anything, write down the playlist order and copy the stream title, description, thumbnail, privacy setting, intended start time, and any other settings you rely on. Restream describes its playlist as a set of video files ordered in its library, and says you cannot add, remove, or rearrange playlist videos while it is airing. Restream’s playlist guide

Check rights and YouTube live eligibility

Confirm you have the right to rebroadcast every video, audio track, image, and other included material. Moving the same files to another service does not grant new rights. YouTube’s requirements can change, so check the current live-stream eligibility and policy guidance in YouTube Studio and YouTube Help before scheduling.

Use the Google account that owns the YouTube channel when authorizing Gyre. Restream’s July 2026 YouTube connection guide says phone verification and a 24-hour wait after first enabling live streaming apply in the process it describes; check the channel’s current status in YouTube Studio rather than assuming the same wait applies to every account. Check Gyre plan access

Gyre’s September 2026 setup guide reports that scheduling is available on trial, Start+, and PRO+ plans, but not Start. Features and plan terms may change; verify the current plan details in Gyre and your signed-in account before you depend on scheduling. The sources do not establish India-specific pricing, taxes, or payment methods, so check Gyre’s current checkout information for your account and region.

What moves—and what you must rebuild

Item What to do What is established
Video files Keep the originals and upload or import them into Gyre. Both services describe file-based workflows; neither retrieved guide documents a direct transfer from Restream to Gyre.
Playlist order Record the order and recreate it in Gyre. Restream and Gyre have separate playlist workflows.
Title, description, thumbnail, privacy, and schedule Copy the details and enter or verify them in Gyre. No retrieved source says these settings transfer automatically.
YouTube channel connection Authorize the channel owner’s Google account in Gyre. Gyre describes channel authorization; Restream’s guide also says the connecting Google account should own the channel.
Existing event or stream URL Check YouTube Studio and decide whether to create or schedule a new broadcast. The retrieved pages do not establish continuity of the event or its URL across services.
Graphics, captions, chat, and analytics Check each item and rebuild it if needed. Direct portability was not established; service-specific features may not transfer.

Rebuild the Restream playlist in Gyre

  1. Sign in to Gyre and choose YouTube. Start the destination setup for the channel you intend to use.
  2. Authorize the channel. Sign in with the Google account that owns the YouTube channel and grant the requested live-broadcast access. Gyre’s September 2026 YouTube API update describes authorization that can create a broadcast and bind a stream key; it also describes manual stream-key setup as an alternative. Follow the current prompts in your Gyre account. Gyre’s YouTube API update
  3. Upload or import the source media. Use your saved originals; do not expect Gyre to retrieve the files or playlist object from Restream.
  4. Create the playlist in the recorded order. Compare the sequence against your notes before saving. Gyre says playback restarts when the playlist ends. Its setup guide recommends a playlist of at least one hour and ideally 3–5 hours; that is Gyre’s recommendation, not a YouTube requirement. Gyre’s prerecorded-stream setup guide
  5. Re-enter the event details. Set and verify the title, description, tags, thumbnail, privacy, and schedule. Inspect the media report and preview where available. Do not assume Restream’s event metadata, captions, or graphics have been copied.
  6. Test before the public changeover. Use an appropriate visibility setting and confirm the correct channel, video playback, playlist order, audio, image, and event details. This is a prudent operational check, not a migration test mode or a guarantee of zero downtime.
  7. Switch the live stream deliberately. Once the Gyre setup is verified, schedule or start it and stop the Restream broadcast when your transition plan allows. Avoid sending overlapping streams to the same event unless you have checked YouTube Studio and understand what viewers will see.

Restream limits that do not transfer to Gyre

Restream’s playlist guide says its Upload & Stream add-on tier (Marathon or Media) is required for the playlist feature, with a maximum playlist length of 24 hours and up to 40 video entries. It also says the video list cannot be edited during playback. Those are Restream-side limits, not established Gyre limits. Restream’s playlist guide

Restream’s Upload & Stream overview says scheduled prerecorded single videos and playlists are supported and describes replay looping up to 10 times. That is not the same as Gyre’s described continuous playlist loop, and neither service’s feature settings carry over simply because the same YouTube channel is used.
