To move a Gyre 24/7 stream to another YouTube channel, authorize that destination channel in Gyre, select it when configuring a replacement broadcast, and verify the new stream in YouTube Studio before stopping the old one. YouTube access, eligibility, and stream limits must also be checked. Gyre’s reviewed documentation does not establish whether changing destinations preserves the old live-event URL, chat, or archive, so treat this as a new broadcast unless Gyre support confirms otherwise.
Change the channel Gyre streams to
Gyre associates a broadcast with an authorized YouTube channel. Its documentation says channels are authorized separately, and its API authorization flow can create a broadcast and bind a stream key for the selected channel. Use the intended channel identity carefully, especially if one Google account manages several channels. Gyre’s help documentation
- Sign in to Gyre and begin configuring the replacement YouTube stream.
- Authorize the destination channel. Choose YouTube authorization and sign in with the Google account that owns or manages the channel you want to use. Authorize that channel separately if it has not already been connected.
- Check the channel shown in Gyre. If the Google account manages multiple channels, confirm the displayed destination identity before proceeding.
- Configure the broadcast in Gyre’s current interface: set the title, description, tags, thumbnail, privacy, video files or playlist, and stream key as applicable.
- Check YouTube eligibility and capacity. Confirm the destination channel is verified, has no live-stream restriction from the preceding 90 days, and has room within YouTube’s active-stream limits.
- Start or schedule the replacement broadcast, then open YouTube Studio and confirm the stream is on the intended channel and behaving as expected.
- Decide when to stop the old stream only after you have verified the replacement. This is a cautious handoff, not a guarantee of uninterrupted viewing or event continuity.
Gyre’s interface may change, so use the current labels presented during channel authorization and broadcast setup rather than relying on a specific button name not confirmed in its documentation.
Check YouTube access before authorizing
The Google account used in Gyre needs permission to manage live streams on the destination channel. YouTube channel permissions let an owner grant access without sharing the account password. The Manager role can manage live streams. The Editor role can also manage live streams, but cannot manage permissions or delete scheduled, live, or completed streams. YouTube says an Owner role under channel permissions cannot transfer channel ownership to another user. Check the current permissions for the channel before starting. YouTube channel permissions

Confirm live-stream eligibility and capacity
- Eligibility: YouTube requires the channel to be verified and not to have had live-streaming restrictions during the previous 90 days. YouTube live-streaming eligibility
- Concurrent streams: YouTube’s stated limits are 10 active streams per channel and three active streams per stream key. Both limits apply, so check channel and key usage before launching the replacement. YouTube live-streaming eligibility

- Copyright: YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If copyrighted material remains after an alert, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. Even where you have a license, the rights holder may need to add your channel to an allowlist. YouTube copyright and live-streaming
Changing Gyre’s destination is not transferring a YouTube channel
If you only want Gyre to send a broadcast to a different channel, authorize and select that destination in Gyre. Do not use YouTube’s Brand Account transfer process for this purpose. A channel transfer changes the channel identity’s account or Brand Account relationship; YouTube’s instructions include prerequisites and warn that an existing destination channel may be replaced. Follow that process only if transferring the channel itself is your goal, and verify both source and destination identities before confirming any replacement step. Will the new stream keep the old URL, chat, or archive?
Gyre’s reviewed documentation does not say whether retargeting a running broadcast preserves its YouTube event URL, live chat, or archive. Do not assume those will carry over. If keeping the same event identity or archive is essential, ask Gyre support before changing the setup; otherwise, plan for a newly configured broadcast and share its new YouTube link with viewers as needed.

Troubleshoot a channel change
The intended channel is missing or the wrong channel appears
Check which Google account you used for authorization and whether it owns or manages the intended channel. If the account manages more than one channel, verify the channel identity shown in Gyre and authorize the destination channel separately.
YouTube rejects or does not start the broadcast
Check that the destination channel is verified, has no live-stream restriction from the prior 90 days, and is within YouTube’s active-stream limits. Confirm the stream key is associated with the intended channel and that the account has permission to manage its live streams.

The stream is interrupted after launch
Check YouTube Studio for a live-stream or copyright alert. YouTube may interrupt or terminate a stream when detected copyrighted material remains after an alert; ask the rights holder about channel allowlisting if you have permission to use the material.
The old event link or chat does not appear on the replacement
The available Gyre documentation does not confirm continuity of the event URL, chat, or archive after a destination change. Treat the replacement as a separate broadcast unless Gyre support confirms otherwise.
