With the game active, press Windows key+Shift+Left arrow or Windows key+Shift+Right arrow to move it toward the monitor on that side. This Windows shortcut works for the active window, but exclusive full-screen games may not behave like ordinary desktop windows. If the shortcut does nothing, check that Windows is using an extended desktop, then try the game in windowed or borderless windowed mode.
Move the game with the Windows shortcut

Bring the game to the foreground.

Press Windows key+Shift+Left arrow to move the active window to the monitor on the left, or Windows key+Shift+Right arrow for the monitor on the right.

If the target screen is farther away, repeat the shortcut as needed.

These shortcuts move the active window according to Microsoft’s Windows keyboard-shortcut documentation. The direction depends on Windows’ display layout, and the shortcut is not guaranteed to move every game while it is in exclusive full-screen mode.

If the game does not move, check Windows display settings
Arrange the monitors to match their physical positions

Open Settings > System > Display.

Select Identify to show a number on each connected screen and match it to the display tiles in Settings.

Drag the display tiles so their positions match your monitors’ physical left-to-right arrangement, then apply the arrangement.

A directional shortcut can send the window to an unexpected display if the Windows layout does not match the physical setup. Microsoft’s multiple-monitor instructions explain how to identify and arrange screens. If a connected monitor is missing from the layout, choose Multiple displays > Detect.

Make sure the desktop is extended
Press Windows key+P and select Extend. Extend mode spreads the desktop across the monitors so you can move items between screens; other projection modes may not provide that setup.

Use windowed or borderless mode if full-screen blocks the move
If the shortcut has no effect, open the game’s display or graphics settings and change its display mode from exclusive full-screen to Windowed or Borderless Windowed. Then try the Windows shortcut again. If the game allows it, switch back to your preferred mode after the window has moved.
This is a practical fallback, not a universal sequence guaranteed for every title: game behavior and available display options vary. Windows’ shortcut documentation describes moving an active window, while it does not specify how each game implements exclusive full-screen mode.

Do you need to enable Windows 11 windowed-game optimizations?
No. The optimization setting is not a requirement for moving a game between monitors. It is intended for DirectX 10 and DirectX 11 games running in windowed or borderless windowed modes.
To find it, open Settings > System > Display > Graphics. Restart the game after changing the setting. Microsoft’s windowed-game optimization instructions describe display and performance features; they do not say the setting is needed to reposition a window.
