To get email alerts that show what changed, use a scheduled website monitor that includes previous and current screenshots in its alert email. Visualping’s documentation describes that format: additions are highlighted in green and deletions in red. Add the page, choose the whole page or the specific area to watch, set a check interval, and enable email notifications.
How screenshot email alerts work
A monitor checks a webpage on a schedule and compares the new version with the previous one. When the change meets the alert criteria, it sends a notification. The check interval affects how soon the monitor can notice a change; there is no universal best interval, so choose one that fits how quickly the page changes and how promptly you need to know.

Set up a monitor with before-and-after screenshots
- Choose the page. Add the public webpage you want to track. Decide whether changes anywhere on the page matter, or whether you only need to watch a particular element, such as a price, date, or notice. - Set what counts as a relevant change. Describe or select the changes you care about, then set the check interval. For example, focus on a price section if unrelated page updates would create noise. Select a cadence appropriate to the page and urgency; the documentation does not establish a universally ideal interval.

- Wait for a check after the page changes. An email can only report a detected change after a monitor check has run and the change matches its criteria. Choose whole-page or selected-area monitoring
Whole-page monitoring is useful when any visible change matters. A selected region is usually a better fit when you only care about one part of a page, such as a product price or event date: it can keep unrelated changes from dominating your alerts. Visualping documents both approaches. The page must still render in a way the service can monitor; dynamic content, authentication, and site behavior can affect results, so check the service’s current documentation for the page you are tracking.

If an expected email does not arrive
- Check that a monitor run occurred after the change. A change made just after a check may not be noticed until the next scheduled run.
- Review the monitor’s email setting. Do not assume it remains enabled; Visualping’s troubleshooting guidance recommends confirming notification settings.
- Check workspace mute settings and spam or junk folders. These can prevent an alert from appearing in the inbox.
- Revisit the alert criteria and monitored region. The page may have changed outside the selected area, or the change may not meet the conditions you set.
- Check the page itself. Dynamic rendering, password protection, or other site behavior may affect what the monitor can see. Consult the service’s current guidance for that page and plan.

Other website monitors

Will a change monitor email me if my computer is off?
