Start with the event’s official ticket seller: follow the artist, team, venue, or event in the seller’s app or account, enable available notifications, and set an event-specific sale reminder if one is offered. If tickets are sold out, check the official event page for resale listings and look for an artist, promoter, or venue waitlist. These options can alert you to scheduled sales or help you find changing inventory, but they do not guarantee tickets or notify you about every new resale listing.
Start with the event’s official ticket seller
Find the event page on the venue, artist, team, or organizer’s official site and confirm which seller handles the primary sale. A venue box office or another primary ticket provider may also sell tickets; one platform does not necessarily show all available inventory. Ticketmaster cautions that it does not control ticket inventory or availability (Ticketmaster Purchase Policy).
Create or sign in to your account before the sale. Follow the event or the relevant artist, team, or venue, then turn on the alerts the service offers. In Ticketmaster, account alerts and its Watchlist/Favorites features can cover event, sale, and presale reminders; the exact controls may vary by app version, event, and market (Ticketmaster account alerts; Ticketmaster app).

Set a reminder for a scheduled Ticketmaster sale
When a Ticketmaster event offers a reminder, its help instructions say to sign in, open the event, select the show and sale, and choose Set Reminder. Ticketmaster says it will send a text one hour before the sale with a direct link to the ticket page (Ticketmaster sale reminders).

- Sign in to the Ticketmaster account you plan to use for the sale.
- Open the event and choose the intended date or show.
- Select the sale or presale you want to track, if the page offers a choice.
- Choose Set Reminder and make sure the account’s phone number is current and able to receive texts.
Ticketmaster’s December 2025 business article says this reminder feature is available for concert events in the United States and Canada. That is a dated platform statement, not a guarantee that every concert or account will offer it (Ticketmaster, December 10, 2025). A reminder is for a scheduled sale; it should not be treated as an alert for every newly posted resale ticket.
What to do when an event is sold out
Check the official resale page
Revisit the event page and seat map on the primary seller’s site. AXS says its Official Resale tickets appear on event pages or seat maps for select events, and recommends checking sold-out event pages because fan listings may appear as late as event day (AXS Official Resale FAQ). Resale availability is event-dependent. The cited AXS guidance does not describe automatic notifications for each newly added listing, so plan to check manually if you want to catch changes.

Look for an artist- or organizer-managed waitlist
Check the artist, promoter, venue, or ticketing page for a waitlist. Ticketmaster’s announcement about its Seated partnership describes artist-managed lists used to distribute some late-release inventory, including production holds (Ticketmaster and Seated). Such lists exist only when participating artists or promoters choose to use them; joining one does not guarantee an offer or ticket.

“Sold out” describes the inventory shown at that time, not necessarily every ticket that might ever become available. Ticketmaster says organizers may release additional inventory or add dates later, but release decisions are up to the organizer (Ticketmaster Purchase Policy). No general promise is established that a seller will notify you about every later release or resale listing.

Before relying on an alert, check what triggers it, whether it covers primary or resale inventory, which notification channel it uses, and whether it is available for your event and location. An on-sale reminder can help you arrive at the right time; a sold-out event may still require revisiting its official page.
For developers: monitor status through the supported API
Ticketmaster’s Inventory Status API provides developers with an availability-status lookup. It is not established as a general consumer alert service or as a guarantee of real-time notifications. Match event IDs to the correct ticketing source and market: Ticketmaster warns that combining IDs across sources or regions can produce incorrect status lookups (Inventory Status API documentation).

Use the API documentation for the current request format, authentication, and supported markets. Build your own polling and notification behavior only within the API’s documented limits; do not assume one lookup covers every seller or resale listing. For ordinary buyers, the seller’s event page and account alerts are the more direct route.
