To tell whether an Indian marketplace sale is meaningful, check the store’s price history first, then save a dated screenshot of the exact listing and variant. For Amazon India, Amazon describes a built-in 30-, 90-, and—where available—365-day history; third-party trackers such as Keepa and Price History offer other coverage and alert options. Treat every chart and screenshot as a record of what was observed, not a promise of the price you will pay at checkout.
Start with the exact product and variant
Open the product detail page for the item you may buy. Before recording a price, verify the product identity and selected size, color, capacity, model, or other variant. A price chart for a similar item or a different variant is not a useful comparison.
- Copy and save the exact product-page URL.
- Note the selected variant and the seller or offer shown on the page.
- Check the marketplace’s own history feature, if available.
- Capture a screenshot that preserves the visible price context, and record its date and time in the filename or a separate note.
- Before buying, reopen the listing and verify the current offer and checkout total.
A screenshot is evidence of what a page showed in one captured state. It cannot establish what another account, location, seller, or checkout session would see.
Check Amazon India’s built-in price history
Amazon says its price-history feature is available to customers in India. Its described access points are a link beside the price on a product detail page and Alexa for Shopping. Look for the history link beside the price; labels and availability can change as the feature rolls out.

Amazon describes 30-day and 90-day views, and says 365-day price insights were rolling out in India, the U.S., and the UK in its 2026 explanation. Availability may therefore differ by account or listing; check the interface you can access rather than assuming every product has every view. Amazon also reported that more than 50 million customers had checked price history since the feature launched in 2024. That is an Amazon-reported usage figure, not independent evidence of savings. Amazon’s seller guidance says its product-page graph shows the lowest Featured Offer price each day. That describes Amazon’s graph; it is not a universal definition of all marketplace price charts. Amazon Seller Central India’s reference-pricing guidance.
Do not confuse a history graph with a reference-price label. Amazon’s seller guidance defines “Typical Price” as the median non-promotional price customers paid over the prior 90 days. The notice says its described calculation adjustment takes effect May 18, 2026. When a third-party tracker helps
Consider a tracker if the marketplace’s built-in history is unavailable for the listing, you want alerts, or you need to follow products across stores. The available provider descriptions establish some features, but do not provide a controlled comparison of accuracy, freshness, or alert speed.
- Keepa: Its app listing describes Amazon price history, price-drop and availability alerts, and support for Amazon India. That description does not establish Flipkart coverage. Keepa’s app listing.
- Price History: The service describes tracking and alerts for Amazon and Flipkart. Its page says it relies on third-party tools and does not guarantee error-free information. Price History.
- PriceDiff: Its published limitations explain why a tracker’s recorded price may differ from checkout. It says history excludes bank offers, coupons, and wallet credits applied at checkout; seller, stock, and variant can change, and page or URL changes can interrupt tracking. Its “all-time lowest” means the lowest price it has recorded for that product and marketplace since tracking began—not necessarily the lowest price since launch. When choosing any tracker, check marketplace coverage, how far back its history goes and when tracking began, alert thresholds and delivery channels, how it treats variants and seller changes, what discounts or shipping costs it excludes, and the timestamp of the latest observation. Provider descriptions are not independent testing.
What to include in a useful screenshot
Capture enough context that you can later identify what the displayed price referred to. This is a practical recordkeeping checklist, not a claim that a particular tool automatically captures or verifies each field.

- Product name and visible selling price
- Selected size, color, capacity, model, or other variant
- Seller or Featured Offer information shown on the page
- Visible coupon, discount, or offer context
- Capture date and time, saved in the filename or a separate note
- Product URL, saved separately if it is not visible in the image
For example, a filename such as phone-model-256gb-2026-10-03-1430.png can make a dated record easier to find. A screenshot does not prove that a coupon was eligible for every account or that a bank offer, wallet credit, shipping charge, or other checkout-only adjustment was included.
Set alerts and verify before purchase
If a tracker offers a target-price alert, set a threshold based on the product’s own observed range and your budget, rather than treating a claimed “lowest ever” label as a guarantee. Once notified, open the live marketplace listing and check that the product and variant still match.
- Confirm the current seller, stock status, and selected variant.
- Review shipping and delivery charges.
- Apply eligible coupons and check bank or wallet offers at checkout.
- Compare like with like: the same product, variant, marketplace, seller or offer terms, and price definition.
Prices and listing details can change between tracker observations. A recorded sale price is useful context, not a checkout quote.

Troubleshooting a price record
- The chart or history link is missing: Check the marketplace’s current interface and the exact product listing. Amazon describes the feature and rollout, but does not establish that every listing or account shows every history window.
- The screenshot and checkout amount differ: Check seller, stock, variant, shipping, coupons, bank offers, and wallet credits. Some of these are applied or determined only at checkout and may not appear in a tracker’s history.
- A tracker stopped updating: Reopen the saved product URL and verify that the listing still exists and still points to the same product and variant. Page or URL changes can interrupt tracking.
- An “all-time low” looks implausible: Check what period and marketplace the tracker means. For PriceDiff, the label means its lowest recorded price since tracking started, not necessarily the product’s lowest price ever.
- The price changed after the screenshot: Compare the timestamp with the live listing. The image preserves an earlier captured state, not a live offer.

Does Amazon India show 365 days of price history for every product?

Can a screenshot prove the price I would have paid?
