Use PageCrawl’s price monitor to follow a product’s extracted numeric price, and use visual tracking when you also need a record of how the listing looked. They are different signals: a screenshot comparison can reveal page changes, but it does not necessarily identify the old and new prices as numeric values. Test the exact Indian product listing you care about; PageCrawl describes monitoring public product pages generally, but retailer-by-retailer compatibility is not established.
Choose numeric price tracking or screenshot comparison
PageCrawl describes price monitoring that extracts numeric values from product pages through structured data and page-content analysis. Its Chrome Web Store listing describes visual screenshot comparison as a separate monitoring option. Select the mode that matches what you need to know:
- Price tracking: follow the extracted price as a number and set a threshold, such as an alert when it falls below a chosen amount.
- Visual tracking: compare page appearance between checks. This can show a changed listing, but a screenshot alone does not confirm which numeric value PageCrawl recognized.
- Page content or selected-element tracking: follow a relevant portion of the page when whole-page changes are noisy or the price appears in a particular element.

- Open the product page you actually want to follow. Copy its public URL. Begin with one product and one variant rather than a search-results page or a broad category page.
- Add that URL in PageCrawl. Choose price tracking for a numeric price, visual tracking for screenshot/page-appearance changes, or page-content/selected-element tracking if the value is confined to a specific page area. PageCrawl documents these modes, though labels in the live interface may change.
- Set the alert condition. For price tracking, configure a threshold such as a price below a specified amount; PageCrawl also describes percentage-drop conditions. Choose a condition that matches your buying decision.
- Choose an alert channel and check allowance. PageCrawl lists email and integrations including Slack, Discord, Teams, and Telegram. Confirm current availability and plan terms on the service before relying on a particular channel.
- Allow a baseline check, then inspect it. Verify the reported price or captured page against the exact product variant and seller you intended to monitor. If the page offers multiple sellers, colors, capacities, or pack sizes, make sure the monitor is not following a different option.
- When alerted, compare the record with the live listing. Review the change evidence and open the retailer page again. Confirm seller, selected variant, delivery location, shipping, coupons, and other offer conditions before making a purchase.
PageCrawl’s price-monitoring page, accessed October 3, 2026, states that the free plan includes six monitors and 220 checks per month. Verify what an alert actually means
A monitor records what it found at a check. A screenshot shows page appearance at that moment; it does not by itself establish the final payable amount or prove that every price component was detected. A numeric price alert is useful for spotting a change, but confirm the live checkout terms before acting.
- Is the listing still the same product and variant?
- Is the displayed offer from the seller you meant to track?
- Does the price apply in your delivery location?
- Are shipping, coupon, bank, membership, or other offer conditions included or excluded?
- Does the captured numeric price agree with the visible listing and the monitor’s before/after record?
PageCrawl says it can group the same product across retailers and compare prices, but that capability does not establish reliable behavior for every Indian marketplace or listing. Validate the exact URL and context you plan to use.

Troubleshoot missed or noisy changes
The price is missing or not updating
Some pages load values dynamically or expose different content depending on location or selection. PageCrawl documents real-browser rendering, but a general capability does not guarantee that a given page’s price is detected. Check that the listing is publicly accessible and that the relevant variant and delivery context are selected. If price tracking misses the value, try page-content or selected-element tracking, then verify a fresh capture.
Alerts trigger for unrelated page movement
Whole-page visual comparisons can reflect changes other than price, such as page layout or promotional content. Switch to a focused element or page-content monitor if available, or retain visual tracking only when a broader record of page appearance is useful. Compare the change record with the live page before treating it as a price change.

The alert does not match the deal at checkout
Reopen the listing and inspect the variant, seller, delivery location, and offer conditions. A displayed listing price and the checkout total are not necessarily the same; use the retailer’s current checkout details to decide whether the deal applies to you.
The expected alert channel or checks are unavailable
Check the current PageCrawl plan and integration availability. The vendor lists email, Slack, Discord, Teams, and Telegram, but plan terms and interface options can change. Also confirm that the monitor has completed checks and that its allowance has not been exhausted.
