Use Visualping to watch each official university admissions page, program page, and application portal where updates actually appear. Set alerts for concrete events—such as changed deadlines, merit lists, counselling, or portal reopening—then confirm every alert against the university’s dated notice before acting. Visualping reports page changes; it does not determine eligibility or replace official instructions.

Which pages should you monitor?

Start at the institution’s official admissions page and follow its links to the pages and portals serving your program. Create separate monitors where updates are published separately; monitoring only the landing page can miss a notice posted on a program page or application portal.

  • University admissions page: useful for institution-wide notices, revised schedules, and links to application systems.
  • Program-specific page: add it if the department or program posts its own dates, selection information, or instructions.
  • Application portal or schedule page: monitor it separately when registration, corrections, document verification, fee payment, or reopening notices appear there.

Official examples show why page selection matters, but do not establish a universal admissions process. The Haryana Directorate of Higher Education portal lists revised schedules and notices for centralized UG and PG admissions, including registration, editing, online document verification and discrepancy removal, provisional and final merit lists, fee submission, physical counselling, and portal reopening. Jawaharlal Nehru University’s official admissions pages list notices including registration extensions, corrections, portal reopening, merit lists, rescheduled document verification, counselling, and vacant-seat calls. The listed dates relate to the 2026–27 cycle; check the institution’s current official pages for the program you are tracking: Haryana Directorate of Higher Education online admission portal, JNU admissions, and JNU admission portal.

Set up a Visualping monitor

  1. Identify authoritative URLs. Open the university’s official admissions page, then note any linked program pages, schedules, and application portals where notices are posted.
  2. Create a monitor for each relevant page. In Visualping, add the page URL. Begin with the whole page if you do not yet know where notices appear. Visualping can monitor a full page or a selected element.
  3. Focus the monitored area when practical. Once you know the layout, select a stable notice list or schedule region if it produces a cleaner signal. If notices move around or the layout changes, whole-page monitoring may be more useful.
  4. Write specific alert criteria. For example: “Notify me when an application deadline or admission schedule changes, or when a registration/correction window, merit or selection list, counselling round, document-verification instruction, fee deadline, portal reopening, or vacant-seat notice is added or updated.”
  5. Choose a check frequency and monitoring mode. Use the cadence available for that monitor and account. During an active decision window, choose a more frequent available check if appropriate. Cloud monitors can continue when your computer is off; local browser monitoring, where used, depends on Chrome remaining open.
  6. Enable and review notifications. Confirm email notifications and workspace settings, then review the monitor’s change summary and before/after comparison when an alert arrives.

Visualping’s available check intervals and notification options depend on the account, plan, and monitor settings. Confirm the choices shown in your account rather than assuming every user has the same cadence.

Choose useful alert criteria

Ask for admissions events that require attention instead of simply asking for “any change.” Broad criteria can trigger alerts for irrelevant edits or layout changes. A focused page area plus a concise list of important events can help make alerts more useful.

  • Application opening, deadline changes, or extensions
  • Registration or correction windows
  • Merit lists, selection lists, or vacant-seat notices
  • Counselling rounds and document-verification instructions
  • Fee-payment deadlines and portal reopening
  • Revised admission schedules

Adjust the criteria to the program’s process. Do not assume every institution uses the same stages or labels.

Verify an alert before taking action

  1. Open the official university page or portal from the alert, rather than relying only on the alert text or screenshot.
  2. Read the complete dated notice and open any linked PDF or portal instructions.
  3. Confirm that the notice applies to your program and, where relevant, your category or applicant group.
  4. Check the current deadline and the specific action required on the official source before submitting documents, paying a fee, or changing plans.

Visualping detects page changes; it does not decide admission eligibility, interpret all linked documents, or replace official instructions. Monitoring is periodic, so a change may not appear in an alert until a later check, and a check or notification can fail. For an imminent deadline, visit the official portal directly.

Maintain the monitors and troubleshoot missed alerts

An expected email did not arrive

  • Check the monitor history to see whether a check ran after the university updated the page.
  • Confirm email notifications are enabled and check workspace mute settings.
  • Inspect spam or junk folders.

The monitor produces too many irrelevant alerts

  • Replace broad “any change” criteria with specific admissions events.
  • If the notice list or schedule has a stable location, monitor that region instead of the whole page.
  • Review whether a frequently changing part of the page is unrelated to admissions notices.

You cannot find an important update in the monitored page

  • Return to the official admissions landing page and check whether the update is on a separate program page, schedule, or application portal.
  • Check whether the notice is provided as a linked document, and monitor the page where the link or authoritative update is posted.
  • For urgent matters, check the university’s official portal directly rather than waiting for another scheduled check.

Or skip the browser setup

If you also need screenshots of admission pages for a workflow or record, ScreenshotNeo offers a one-request screenshot API. For example, using cURL:

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://admission.jnu.ac.in/ -o shot.webp

See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for setup and options. It removes cookie banners, popups, and chat widgets before the shot; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card, and paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Screenshot capture is not page-change monitoring, so keep checking the university’s official notices.
