Use a website-change monitor to check the public pages you care about on a schedule, save screenshots or comparisons, and alert you when content changes. Choose a stable page region where possible, confirm each check captured the intended content, and verify important changes on the broker’s live site and current official sources. Screenshots show what a monitor rendered at a particular check; they do not prove what happened between checks or replace regulator and exchange notices.
What broker pages are worth monitoring?
Start with public pages that contain information you actually need to follow, such as investor-information or disclosure pages. SEBI’s December 2021 circular addresses publication of the Investor Charter and disclosure of investor complaints on stock brokers’ websites. SEBI’s 2023 trading-software material also describes investor-protection information on broker websites offering internet-based trading, including prominent links to relevant exchange rules, regulations, and circulars. These sources provide context for the kinds of public information you might watch; they do not direct investors to use screenshot software. For current-era charter context, also consult SEBI’s February 2025 Investor Charter circular. Do not rely on the 2021 circular alone as a complete statement of current requirements. Verify current circulars directly before making a compliance decision.

NSE’s Surveillance Dashboard and Alert/Monitoring Dashboard are described as resources for exchange members, not as an investor-facing service for tracking broker web pages.

Set up scheduled screenshot monitoring
- Choose the exact public URL. List the broker pages whose changes matter to you. Record each page’s URL and what information you expect to see.
- Select the monitored area. Prefer a stable content region over the entire page when the service supports it. Whole-page monitoring can catch broader changes, but rotating banners, timestamps, ads, or other dynamic elements may cause irrelevant alerts.
- Choose a monitoring service and mode. Compare local checks, which depend on your browser or device running, with cloud checks, which run on the service’s servers. Confirm that the selected monitor can access the public page and capture the intended content.
- Set the check schedule. Choose an interval appropriate to your purpose and available plan controls. Checks are periodic, not necessarily continuous or instantaneous; the actual interval depends on your configuration and service.
- Choose how changes are detected and alerted. Review available visual, text, or source/code comparison options and set useful alert delivery. More sensitive monitoring can produce noise when page elements change without affecting the information you care about.
- Review each alert before acting. Open the saved before-and-after screenshots or comparison, then check the live broker page. Confirm the capture succeeded and displayed the relevant content rather than a consent overlay, bot check, blank page, sign-in gate, or error.
- Keep a record for important changes. Note the source URL and time of the capture. A screenshot is evidence of what the monitoring system rendered at that check, not proof that the page was continuously unchanged between checks or that the page itself is authoritative.
Compare monitoring options by capability

These are vendor-documented capabilities, not independent tests of Indian broker sites. Pages may render dynamically or use login gates, bot protections, or consent overlays, any of which can affect a capture. Treat a failed or incomplete check as an error to investigate, not evidence that nothing changed.

Troubleshoot missed or noisy changes
- The capture shows a cookie banner or popup: Check whether your monitoring service can handle the overlay or select a stable content region beneath it. Verify the saved capture rather than assuming the page body was monitored.
- The capture is blank, blocked, or asks you to sign in: Confirm the URL is public and accessible without personal credentials. Review the service’s error status and test the live page directly. Do not treat an inaccessible capture as an unchanged page.
- You receive alerts for irrelevant changes: If available, narrow the selection to the relevant content area or use a text/source comparison instead of a full-page visual comparison. Recheck that the selected area still includes the disclosure or information you need.
- No alert arrives: Check that the monitor is enabled, the scheduled interval has elapsed, alert delivery is configured, and the latest check succeeded. Local monitors also require the browser/app and device to be running.
- A screenshot differs from what you see in a browser: Dynamic rendering, overlays, bot protection, or timing can change what the monitor captures. Inspect the saved version and live page, then adjust the selected region or schedule if the service allows.
Use screenshots as a limited record, not a compliance guarantee
A scheduled capture records a page as rendered at a point in time. Because checks occur at intervals, a change may appear and disappear between captures. A successful-looking screenshot also does not establish that the information is complete, current, or authoritative. For investment or compliance decisions, verify the live broker page and the latest applicable SEBI or exchange materials directly.

Can a screenshot monitor guarantee that I see every broker website change?
No. It captures at configured check times, so changes between checks may be missed, and capture failures must be distinguished from unchanged content.
