Use Distill.io to watch the official result or notice page maintained by the agency conducting your exam. Select the exam-specific result area, choose a local or cloud monitor, and set an alert. When Distill reports a change, open the agency’s page and verify the notice: a page change alone does not prove that a result has been declared or tell you your individual status.
Find the exam’s official result page
Start with the agency responsible for the examination, not a third-party result aggregator. India’s National Portal of India can help with broad discovery, but the conducting body’s current portal is the authority for a particular exam. For example, the National Testing Agency provides an Exam Result page; UPSC lists results and examination information on its official site.
Check that the page is for the correct exam and year. Agencies may move services between portals: the older SSC results page directs visitors to the newer SSC portal, which has a results section. Use the current agency page and update your monitor if the agency changes the URL.

- Open the official page. In a browser with Distill installed, navigate to the agency’s result or notice page. Start from the public page when the result will be announced there.
- Add a monitor. Choose the page or select a region to watch. A useful region might be the list of notices or the link for the specific examination. Review Distill’s selection preview to ensure it includes the relevant content and is not focused only on unrelated page elements. Distill describes monitoring selected page content, comparing it with an earlier check, and alerting you to detected changes in its Web Monitor documentation.
- Choose where checks run. Select local or cloud monitoring based on whether the computer can remain available and whether the page type is supported. The differences are explained below.
- Set the schedule. Pick an available interval or schedule that makes sense for the expected update cadence. Distill documents interval and random schedules, live mode for applicable local checks, and cron scheduling for Enterprise. Available frequencies depend on monitor type and plan; verify the current options in your account.
- Choose an alert and run an initial check. Select an alert method available to your account, then confirm Distill can capture the content you intend to monitor. Distill lists email, SMS, push notifications, and integrations among its options, with availability depending on subscription.
- Verify any alert at the agency source. Open the official page directly. Check the examination name, year, notice title, and publication details. Follow the agency’s own instructions for candidate-specific results.
Local or cloud monitoring?
Distill’s local and cloud monitors differ in where checks run, whether your device must stay available, and supported page types and schedules. Consult its monitor-type documentation for current limits; features and plan details can change.

Adjust for the kind of result page
Static notice or result listing
Watch the exam-specific notice area if possible. Monitoring the whole page is simpler, but unrelated changes elsewhere can trigger an alert.
JavaScript-rendered content
If the selection preview or check misses content that appears in the browser, review the monitor’s device and dynamic-content or delay settings. Distill documents background mode as suitable for static pages; dynamic content may require a foreground or another supported local mode. See its monitor-type guidance and confirm the captured version includes the result area.

PDF or XML result
Check that the chosen monitor type supports the file. Distill documents PDF/XML monitoring for cloud checks, not local checks. A page that links to a PDF may be monitorable as a changing web page even when the file itself is not; verify which content your selection actually captures.

Candidate-specific results or marks
A public notice page is different from a personal result lookup. SSC’s marks page, for example, asks for candidate-specific information such as a registration or roll number and date of birth. Do not assume a monitor of the public page will preserve a login, form submission, or session. Use the agency’s official instructions for individual lookup, and do not enter personal details on an untrusted site.

Common problems and fixes
- The monitor reports changes that are not a result: Routine page edits can change the selected content. Narrow the selection to the exam notice or result area, then verify every alert on the agency’s official page.
- The check misses visible content: The page may render content dynamically or after a delay. Review Distill’s dynamic-content, delay, and monitor-mode options; inspect the selection preview and test whether the captured content contains the region you chose.
- A PDF or XML file is not monitored: Confirm the monitor type. Distill documents these file monitors as cloud-supported and not locally supported; choose a supported cloud route if appropriate and confirm the result is actually captured.
- Checks stop when your computer is off: That is expected for local monitoring. Use a supported cloud monitor if checks need to continue independently of your device.
- The page or portal has moved: Visit the conducting body’s current site, find the corresponding result page, and edit or recreate the monitor for the new URL. SSC’s older results page specifically points visitors toward its newer portal.
- An alert does not show your individual result: Distill detects content changes; it does not establish a candidate’s status. Open the official notice or the agency’s candidate-specific result service and follow its instructions.
