Set up a webpage monitor for your insurer’s official policy page and, where possible, its linked policy wording PDF. The monitor can alert you when the content changes; it cannot tell you whether the change legally applies to your existing policy. Compare the updated wording with your saved copy and ask the insurer to confirm any change that could affect your cover.
Set up a monitor for the right policy information
- Find the official product page. Use your insurer’s site and identify the exact product and policy type. Note the page URL and locate linked policy wording, a customer information sheet, or other documents relevant to your cover.
- Save a dated baseline. Download the current policy document and note its displayed version or date, if available. Save a dated copy or screenshot of the relevant webpage as well. This gives you something to compare with a later alert; the sources cited here do not establish a universal retention period for these records.
- Monitor the page and document. Add the official page URL to a change-monitoring tool. If it supports selecting a page region, target the policy details or document link rather than unrelated navigation and promotions. If the tool supports PDFs, monitor the linked wording document too. A changed document link can matter even when the page itself appears unchanged.
- Choose where checks run and how you are notified. Local monitoring depends on your device and monitoring app being available. Cloud monitoring runs on the service’s servers, according to the vendors’ documentation. Pick a check schedule and alert channel appropriate to the importance of the information, and confirm current feature and plan limits with the provider.
- Review each alert against the official source. Open the insurer’s current page and document, inspect the actual difference, compare dates or versions, and save the updated copy. A layout adjustment can trigger an alert without changing a policy term.
- Ask about consequential changes. If the wording may affect coverage, exclusions, premium, eligibility, renewal, or a claim, ask the insurer whether it applies to your own policy. Keep the answer with your policy records.
Visualping documents scheduled checks, full-page or selected-area monitoring, comparisons and alerts; its help article also distinguishes cloud checks, which continue when your computer is off, from local checks that require Chrome to remain open. The article was edited August 10, 2026. Visualping: What is Visualping?
Distill documents local monitoring through a browser extension or desktop app and cloud monitoring through its web app. Its documentation covers page and PDF monitoring, notification options, and selecting a full page or part of one. Distill: What is Distill? and Distill Chrome Extension.
These documentation pages describe relevant capabilities; they do not establish which service detects changes most accurately, or whether either one works reliably on a particular Indian insurer’s site. Check current vendor details before choosing.

What an alert does—and does not—establish
A monitor reports an apparent change in the page or file it checks. It does not determine whether the change altered your contract, when it took effect, or whether it applies to your policy. Confirm the current version against your own policy documents and the insurer’s communications before drawing conclusions.
IRDAI’s Insurance Repository information describes electronic access to policy-level details, downloadable policy bonds, and servicing requests through a repository or directly with the insurer. An e-Insurance account may help you access your own policy information, but it is not a substitute for checking the relevant wording and asking the insurer about an individual change. See IRDAI Insurance Repositories and the FAQ on Insurance Repository.

For an automated screenshot of an insurer’s policy page, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server for developers. A single request can return a screenshot, but it is not a change-monitoring service: you still need to schedule checks and compare captures yourself. Cookie banners, newsletter popups and chat widgets are removed before the shot; bot checks, blank pages and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card, and paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
Change the target URL to the official policy page you want to capture. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. Learn more at ScreenshotNeo, or sign up free for 1,000 screenshots a month with no card.
Troubleshoot missing or noisy alerts
- Alerts come from unrelated changes: Select just the policy area or document link if the monitor supports it. Otherwise, inspect the difference rather than assuming every alert is meaningful.
- The page changes but the PDF does not—or vice versa: Monitor both the product page and the linked wording document when supported. Check whether the link points to a new file or version.
- No alert arrives: Verify the monitor is active, its schedule and notification channel are configured, and whether it runs locally or in the cloud. A local check may stop when its app or device is unavailable.
- The page is dynamic or hard to monitor: Try selecting the specific policy text or document link rather than the whole page. Confirm the tool supports the page or PDF format in question; vendor documentation does not guarantee compatibility with every insurer’s site.
- You cannot tell if a change affects your cover: Compare the actual policy wording and ask the insurer to confirm applicability to your policy. Do not treat the alert itself as a contractual determination.
Choose a monitor by the job it must do
Before relying on a service, check whether it supports the insurer’s page and linked PDF, whether it can track a selected area or text, whether checks run locally or in the cloud, and what schedule and notification options are currently available. Also check whether an alert includes a useful before-and-after comparison. These details and limits can change, so verify them on the provider’s current pages.
