Use a webpage change-monitoring tool to watch a bank’s public page, not its internet-banking account. Add the bank’s verified current URL, select the page or content region to track, choose a checking schedule and alert method, and review alerts by visiting the bank directly. Never give a monitor your password, OTP, account number, or other banking details. A change alert reports a difference; it does not verify that the change is legitimate or that the site is safe.

Set up monitoring for a public bank page

  1. Find the current official address. Start at a bank notice or another source you already trust, then navigate to the public page containing the information you want to track. If an old bookmark redirects, check the destination against a current bank notice before using it.
  2. Choose a change monitor. Select a browser-based tool or hosted web service that supports the page you need. Monitoring tools generally fetch or render a page, compare it with an earlier version, and can send an alert when a configured difference is found. Checks and alerts may run on different schedules.
  3. Add the final public URL. Do not sign in through the monitor. Watch only pages accessible without authentication.
  4. Choose what to watch. Track the whole page or, where the tool allows, a specific text block, image, or document. A region can reduce noise from unrelated changes elsewhere on the page.
  5. Set sensitivity, schedule, and alerts. Pick a change threshold if available, a checking interval suited to how quickly the information matters, and an alert route such as email if offered. Confirm how often the service checks separately from how quickly it sends notifications.
  6. Review alerts safely. When notified, open the bank’s verified address directly or use a known bookmark. Do not follow an unexpected message link to sign in or provide information.

Useful comparison points include the page types a tool can monitor, whether it renders dynamic content, region selection, sensitivity controls, check frequency, alert channels, change history or visual diffs, and whether checks run in a browser or on the provider’s servers. Features and limits vary; verify current details with the provider. A 2019 survey of webpage change-detection systems describes these as common design dimensions, not guarantees about any particular current service: Mallawarachchi et al., “Change Detection and Notification of Webpages: A Survey”.

Verify the bank’s domain before adding a URL

Do not assume an old bank URL is still the authoritative address. On February 7, 2025, the Reserve Bank of India introduced the exclusive .bank.in domain initiative for Indian banks, with the stated aim of reducing threats such as phishing and increasing trust in digital banking. RBI named IDRBT as exclusive registrar and said registrations were planned to commence from April 2025. See the RBI policy statement.

Migration details are bank-specific. Indian Bank’s October 31, 2025 filing reported that its website moved from www.indianbank.in to www.indianbank.bank.in and said RBI had advised commercial banks to complete migration by that date; this does not establish that every bank uses the same host or that every old address has been disabled. Indian Bank filing. IDFC FIRST Bank likewise documents its move from idfcfirstbank.com to idfcfirst.bank.in, provides current public and net-banking addresses, and asks customers to update bookmarks: IDFC FIRST Bank domain migration page. Verify your own bank’s address rather than copying either example.

Keep monitoring separate from banking security

  • For this no-login task, a monitor needs only the public page URL. Do not enter a banking password, OTP, account number, or private account information.
  • A notification means the monitored page representation changed. It does not establish who changed it, whether the change is genuine, or whether the page is free of malware or fraud.
  • A monitor can miss changes outside the part or representation it checks, and ordinary layout updates can trigger false alarms. Use alerts as prompts to verify information at the official site, not as a security verdict.

India’s government website guidance discusses phishing and compromised or modified webpages as general security concerns; it is not a specific rule for people using change monitors. See the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites and apps: Security.

For a one-time screenshot of a public page, ScreenshotNeo offers a single GET request that returns an image or PDF. It is a screenshot API, not a scheduled change-alert service, so use a dedicated monitor if you need recurring checks and notifications. ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie or consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server includes tools for AI agents to take screenshots, get page information, and capture PDFs.

Troubleshoot common monitoring problems

  • The tool cannot access the page: Check that the address is correct and public without login. Confirm the bank has not changed its domain, then add the current official URL rather than relying on an obsolete bookmark.
  • Alerts arrive for unrelated changes: If supported, narrow monitoring to the relevant text or region and adjust the change threshold. Cookie notices, rotating content, and page layout changes may otherwise create noise.
  • A meaningful change is not detected: Check whether the tool renders dynamic content and whether the changed text or element is included in the monitored region. A monitor only compares the representation it captures.
  • An alert link looks unexpected: Do not use it to sign in. Navigate to the bank using its verified address or a known bookmark, then check the page there.
  • You receive an alert but cannot tell what changed: Look for a history or diff view in the tool. If it does not provide one, compare the current official page with the earlier captured version if available.
