How to Monitor Amazon Product Prices with Keepa and Capture Clear Screenshots

Use Keepa to view an Amazon product’s price history, set a target-price or availability watch, and choose how you want to be notified. A screenshot can document the chart and the watch settings you can see, but it records only what was displayed at that moment—not a promise that the price or stock will stay the same.

What Keepa shows and what a screenshot can prove

Keepa’s browser extensions add an interactive price-history chart to supported Amazon product pages. Its mobile app also provides historical price graphs and alerts. The chart can help you judge whether a target price is plausible based on past prices, while a watch can notify you when a product meets your selected conditions. Keepa describes price-drop and availability alerts in its product listings: Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-ons, and Google Play.

A screenshot is useful as a dated record of the product page, chart, and visible tracking setup. It does not prove that the price remained available later, that a seller would honor it, or that an alert will arrive. For an interpretable capture, keep the product name, Amazon marketplace, chart period, relevant series or legend, target threshold, and capture date visible. Redact account details and other personal information before sharing.

Install Keepa for the Amazon marketplace you use

Open the product in the Amazon marketplace where you intend to buy it. Keepa’s current Chrome listing names Amazon locales .com, .co.uk, .de, .co.jp, .fr, .ca, .it, .es, .in, and .mx; the Firefox listing also names .br. If your marketplace is not listed, check the relevant browser-store listing for current compatibility rather than assuming support.

1. Install the Keepa Chrome extension or the Keepa Firefox add-on, or install the Keepa app from Google Play for Android.

2. Open the specific Amazon product page in the marketplace where you plan to purchase.

3. Scroll to the embedded Keepa chart if you are using a browser extension. In the mobile app, open the item’s price-history graph. The app listing also describes data such as sales rank, Buy Box history, and offer counts.

Interface names, permissions, supported marketplaces, and alert settings can change. Follow the controls currently shown in your client; the Google Play listing states that the app was updated October 2, 2026.

Read the chart before choosing a price target

Do not set a watch from one isolated price point. First decide which offer you would actually buy: Amazon-sold or a third-party seller, new or used, and the relevant marketplace. A third-party setup walkthrough describes separate series for Amazon’s own price, the Buy Box, the lowest new third-party offer, and the lowest used offer; the exact series and controls may differ by client.

• Check which plotted series represents the offer type you want. A target for a used item or a third-party offer is not interchangeable with a target for a new item sold by Amazon.

• Look at the chart’s historical movement and choose a threshold that reflects a price you would accept. Historical behavior can inform a decision, but it does not predict the next price.

• Keep the chart’s time range and legend visible when capturing it. Without them, a viewer may not know which prices or period the screenshot represents.

Set up a Keepa price or availability watch

Keepa’s listings describe watches for a target price and for an item returning to stock. In a cited walkthrough, the setup sequence is to choose the target, select new or used and Amazon or third-party scope, choose a tracking duration, and start tracking. Exact labels and available options can vary by client, so use the tracking control presented in your current Keepa interface.

1. Open the product’s Keepa chart or tracking control.

2. Choose the price threshold, or select the availability watch if you are waiting for the product to return to stock.

3. Set the relevant condition and seller scope, such as new or used and Amazon or third-party offers.

4. Choose the tracking duration if the client offers that setting, then start the watch.

5. Choose an available notification channel in the Keepa client or account settings. The Firefox listing names email, Facebook Messenger, Twitter/X, Telegram, RSS, and mobile push; the mobile app listing describes price-drop and back-in-stock alerts. Confirm what is currently available in your own client.

Keepa’s Chrome Web Store listing says it can notify users when a product drops below a target or returns to stock. That is a description from Keepa’s listing, not an independent guarantee about alert delivery or the future availability of an offer.

Capture a screenshot that is useful later

Before capturing, arrange the page so someone who did not set up the watch can understand what it represents. Include the product context and Amazon locale, the chart range and legend, and the threshold or tracking condition where visible. If you show two dates or compare periods, label each period. Avoid cropping out the seller or condition context, and remove account details from the image before sharing.

Keep the screenshot’s purpose in mind: it documents a displayed chart and setup state at capture time. It is not a price guarantee or proof of a completed purchase.

Keepa and Amazon’s own price history

Amazon also has a price-history surface, but availability should be checked locally. A May 5, 2026 Tom’s Guide report described product-page and Rufus views with 30-, 90-, or 365-day periods and said the 365-day expansion was rolling out in the US, UK, and India. That report is a dated rollout account, not confirmation that every account or marketplace has the feature today. See Tom’s Guide’s report.
