To monitor a website with Hexowatch, choose the kind of change you want to catch, add the relevant page or data-source URL, configure the monitor and its alerts, then inspect the snapshots when Hexowatch reports a change. The important first step is choosing the right signal: pixels, visible text, a particular value, uptime, or another source. Each monitor watches something different.
Choose what you want to detect
Start by describing the event that should prompt an alert. A redesign, a changed price, a missing keyword, and an outage are different events; monitoring the whole page with the wrong signal can create irrelevant alerts or miss the change you care about.

Hexowatch’s homepage describes 13 monitoring types; that is the vendor’s own feature count, not an independent assessment. Its official descriptions include the modes above, as well as WHOIS monitoring. Check Hexowatch’s current service pages for the available types and their configuration details.

- Define the change. Write down the specific event you want to catch, such as a price change, a missing keyword, a page redesign, or a URL becoming unavailable.
- Select the matching monitor type. Choose visual for rendered appearance, content for visible text, keyword for a phrase, HTML element for a particular value, or availability for downtime. Use a sitemap, RSS, API, backlink, source-code, or technology monitor when that is the actual object you need to watch.
- Enter the URL or source. Add the page URL after choosing the monitor. For availability monitoring, Hexowatch’s walkthrough describes previewing the URL before configuring the check.
- Configure the monitor. Set the options the selected monitor offers. For availability, the walkthrough describes choosing a check frequency and notification channel; it also describes optional start and end dates.
- Start monitoring. Save or start the monitor in Hexowatch. Interface wording can change, so follow the current prompts for the monitor you selected.
- Review the alert and recorded change. Treat a notification as a cue to inspect the page and compare the available snapshots or archive. Confirm that the reported difference is meaningful before acting on it.
The official Hexowatch guide describes snapshots as a way to compare changes. A monitor’s ability to capture a particular page can depend on how that page behaves; the available documentation does not establish that every dynamic, login-gated, or bot-protected page will be captured reliably.

Set a practical check frequency and alert destination
Pick a frequency that fits the pace and consequence of the change. A price or availability change may call for more frequent checks than a policy page that rarely changes. The maximum frequency and check quota depend on the current plan, so consult the Hexowatch pricing page before choosing a tier or promising a particular interval. A configured frequency is not, by itself, a guarantee of detection latency.
A 2024 Hexowatch playbook names email, Zapier, Google Sheets, Pabbly Connect, Slack, Telegram, and webhooks as alert or integration options. That source does not establish current plan eligibility or give setup steps for each connector. Confirm availability and instructions in the current Hexowatch interface or documentation before building a workflow around one.

Plan limits and pricing can change
Search-indexed Hexowatch pricing observed around July 2026 showed Pro at $24.17 per month with $290 billed upon purchase, 4,500 checks per month, and a 15-minute maximum monitoring frequency; Business at $45.83 per month with $550 billed, 10,000 checks per month, and a 5-minute maximum; and Business+ at $99 per month with $999 billed and 25,000 checks per month. Enterprise was listed as tailored. The indexed page did not establish a billing cadence or geography for these displayed figures. Treat them as a dated snapshot, not a current quote, and verify the live pricing page before purchase. It also showed residential proxy credits as an optional add-on starting at $9.99 monthly; verify that option and its terms directly.

Troubleshoot a monitor that misses or misreports changes
- You get too many alerts: Check whether the monitor is watching rendered pixels or all visible text when you only care about a particular field. For price or stock, use an HTML element monitor if the relevant value can be selected.
- An important change is not reported: Confirm that the chosen monitor observes the signal that changed. A visual monitor and a keyword monitor do not test the same thing. Review the URL and monitor configuration, then compare the available snapshots.
- The page preview or capture looks wrong: The official materials do not promise reliable capture for every dynamic, gated, or bot-protected page. Check whether the page can be reached in the relevant context and whether its content loads after the initial response; do not assume a missed capture means the page was unchanged.
- Checks are not running as often as expected: Check the current plan’s frequency limit and quota. Pricing and limits can change, and the indexed figures above are not a substitute for the live plan details.
- An integration does not appear or deliver alerts: Verify that the connector is currently available for your account and monitor, and consult its current setup instructions. The 2024 integration list does not establish present plan eligibility.

It offers distinct monitor types for pages and sources such as sitemaps, feeds, and APIs. Choose the monitor based on the part of the site or data you need to watch; a single page monitor should not be treated as a guarantee that every page on a site is covered.
