To monitor only part of a page in ChangeTower, create a single-page monitor, choose Specific Elements, select the areas in the preview, and save the selection. Then set the monitor details and create it. If the page has distracting areas you do not want included, ChangeTower also offers a separate option for ignoring elements.
Set up a monitor for selected page sections
- In ChangeTower’s left navigation, choose New Monitor, then select single-page monitoring.
- Enter the exact URL of the page you want to watch.
- Choose Specific Elements rather than full-page monitoring.
- In the screenshot preview, click each area you want to track, then choose Save Selection. The selected areas are highlighted. To change them, use Edit and revise or add areas.
- Review any relevant monitoring options, such as the threshold, manual user-action handling, and lazy-loading support when applicable.
- Under Details, set a recognizable monitor name, tags, email alerts, monitoring frequency, and save behavior.
- Choose Create. ChangeTower uses the starting snapshot as the comparison point for later checks and alerts when it detects a change.
Use a name that identifies both the page and the section—for example, “Pricing page — annual plan table.” If you monitor several areas on one page, include enough detail to distinguish this monitor from others.
Choose between watching sections and ignoring elements
These are two different selective-monitoring approaches. ChangeTower’s feature description says one monitor uses one mode, so treat ignoring elements as an alternative setup, not an additional filter that can necessarily be combined with a Specific Elements selection.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches| Approach | What you configure | Useful when |
|---|---|---|
| Specific Elements | Select the page areas to watch in the preview. | You care about a defined region, such as a price table, policy clause, product specification, compliance disclosure, job listing, or stock status. |
| Ignore elements | Mark frequently changing areas to exclude from monitoring. | You want to watch the broader page but avoid noise from items such as consent modals, chat widgets, clocks or weather widgets, rotating promotions, ad slots, social feeds, or view counts. |
These examples describe possible uses, not a guarantee that every page will render or expose each region to selection in the same way. Choose the mode based on whether your target is a particular section or the rest of a page with noisy areas excluded.

Plan availability and terminology
ChangeTower’s FAQ currently says section monitoring starts on Essential and ignoring specific elements is available on Business. Plan entitlements can change, so confirm availability in your account or on ChangeTower’s current pricing page before relying on a feature.
For this workflow, use the current label Specific Elements. Older help material uses terms such as “Content Monitor” and describes changed-word thresholds; do not substitute that older setup for the current screenshot-preview selection steps.

Troubleshooting selection and monitoring
- The selection is too broad or misses part of the target: use Edit to revise or add areas, then save the selection again. Check the highlighted preview before creating the monitor.
- Changing banners or widgets create unwanted noise: consider a separate monitor using the ignore-elements approach. Do not assume that ignored areas can also be combined with a Specific Elements monitor.
- The page depends on clicks, scrolling, or delayed content: review the manual user-action and lazy-loading options exposed during setup. Their behavior can vary by page; the available documentation does not establish that every dynamic page can be monitored perfectly.
- You are looking for a particular text block or HTML condition: the visual selection workflow is for choosing visible areas in the screenshot preview. Custom HTML criteria and text-block workarounds are separate approaches; confirm they fit your exact requirement rather than treating them as equivalent to section selection.
- You cannot select an element consistently: verify that the page URL is correct and that the desired content appears in the preview. If the page changes after loading or requires a user action, review the relevant setup options and whether the content is present at the time of capture.
Or skip the browser setup
If you need a clean screenshot of a page or section rather than an ongoing ChangeTower change monitor, ScreenshotNeo can return an image or PDF from one GET request. Its API accepts options for capturing a CSS-selected element and for waiting for a selector, delay, or network idle; this is a capture, not a replacement for ChangeTower’s recurring monitoring and alerts.

See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. Cookie banners, popups, and chat widgets are removed before the shot; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed; an MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots; and 1,000 screenshots a month are free with no card, with paid plans starting at $5 for 3,000.
