To monitor a Hindi webpage with Distill.io, create a monitor for the page or, preferably, select the specific Devanagari text block you care about. Check the selection preview, choose where and how often Distill checks, and add an alert action. Distill’s documented workflow is a general webpage-monitoring feature, not a separate Hindi-only mode; verify the captured text and early change history before relying on it.
Set up a Hindi webpage monitor
- Open the page and Distill. In a supported browser, open the Hindi webpage and open or install the Distill Web Monitor extension.
- Choose what to watch. In the Distill menu, choose to monitor the whole page or select a specific part. Distill’s Chrome Extension documentation says: “Click Monitor full page to monitor the whole webpage or click Monitor parts of page to monitor only a selected part or section of the webpage.” For an announcement page, select the announcement text or list rather than navigation, clocks, counters, advertisements, or other frequently changing elements.
- Check the selection preview. Confirm that the Hindi text appears as expected and that unrelated content is not included. If the preview is empty or partial, wait for the page to finish loading and adjust the page-load delay before saving.
- Set the monitor options. Choose the device or monitoring mode, set a schedule that suits your needs and plan, and add an alert action. Alert types and checking limits can depend on your subscription.
- Verify the first results. After the first check, inspect the monitor’s change history. Distill provides visual, plain-text, and source views that can help you tell whether it captured the intended content.
Can Distill track Hindi text?
Distill describes monitoring webpages by reading their HTML, comparing content, and notifying you when content changes. Its documented whole-page and selected-part workflow can be used for a Hindi webpage; the reviewed documentation does not describe a separate Hindi monitor mode or provide a blanket guarantee for every Hindi site, dynamic page, or Devanagari rendering setup.

The language of the page and the language of Distill’s interface are separate issues. A Chrome Web Store listing updated on 4 May 2026 identifies extension version 4.1.0 and does not list Hindi among the interface languages. That listing does not establish that Hindi webpages cannot be monitored. The practical check is whether the selected-content preview and subsequent change history show the text you intend to track.
Choose local or cloud monitoring
| Mode | Where checks run | When it may fit | Important constraint |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local | Your browser or desktop app | Try it when cloud checks cannot access the page or the page behaves differently by location. | The device and browser or app need to be running for checks; local monitoring does not keep checking while the computer is off. |
| Cloud | Distill’s servers | Use it for unattended checks when the page is accessible from Distill’s cloud. | Minimum check interval and available volume depend on the plan. Not every page is necessarily accessible or reliable in cloud mode. |
Distill lists browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Opera, along with a web app, mobile apps, and desktop apps. Its documentation describes desktop apps as public beta, so check Distill’s current platform information if you are choosing an app specifically. A page that works in your browser is not automatically guaranteed to work from the cloud.

Reduce missed updates and noisy alerts
- Preview is empty or incomplete: The target text may load slowly or through JavaScript. Allow more time for the page to load, increase the configured wait if needed, and inspect the preview again.
- Alerts report irrelevant changes: Narrow the selection to the Hindi content block. Exclude counters, timestamps, ads, navigation, and other page elements that change without representing the update you care about.
- Cloud checks fail or show different content: The page may be blocked from the cloud or vary by location. Try local monitoring if the page is accessible in your own browser and local checks suit your needs.
- You are unsure what changed: Open the monitor’s change history after a check and compare its visual, plain-text, or source view with the page.
If the page loads its target text late, increase the wait rather than assuming an empty preview means the monitor is configured correctly. Distill’s configuration documentation describes a default delay of two seconds and an adjustable delay up to 20 seconds; the appropriate setting depends on the page.

Distill’s pricing page, as indexed and accessed on 3 October 2026, listed a Free plan with 25 total monitors, five cloud monitors, a six-hour minimum cloud interval, and 1,000 cloud checks per month. Plan details can change; check the current pricing page for the limits and alert options that apply to your account. The key operational trade-off is whether the plan’s minimum interval and check allowance meet your update needs.

If your goal is to capture a page as an image or PDF rather than receive change alerts, ScreenshotNeo offers a one-request screenshot API. It is not a replacement for Distill’s scheduled webpage monitoring.

For example, this cURL request captures a screenshot of the target URL:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for API details. ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are not billed. It also provides an MCP server for AI agents, and the free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots.
