Start from the bank’s verified official website, find the page that carries the service notices you care about, and monitor that page or a specific notice section for changes. Treat alerts only as prompts to check the bank’s own site: a page-change alert does not authenticate a notice or guarantee that every change will be detected.

Find and verify the bank’s official notice page

  1. Reach the site from a trusted starting point. Use the bank’s own app or an address you have previously verified, rather than a link in an unsolicited message or search advertisement. Confirm the bank’s current official domain before saving it. The Reserve Bank of India’s April 22, 2025 circular directed banks to migrate to the .bank.in domain by October 31, 2025; it explains the initiative’s aims as combating digital-payment fraud, strengthening cybersecurity, and increasing public confidence. The circular is context for checking addresses, not a guarantee that any particular page or observed domain is legitimate. Read the RBI circular.
  2. Look for the right category. Check labels such as “Public Notices,” “Notifications,” “What’s New,” “Maintenance,” or “Service Updates.” A bank may distribute customer notices and service-interruption updates across different pages.
  3. Choose the most relevant page or section. Save the public page carrying the notices you need. If the monitoring tool supports selecting an area, track the notice list or maintenance section rather than the entire homepage, where unrelated changes can trigger alerts.
  4. Set a suitable checking schedule. Choose how often to check according to how time-sensitive the notices are. Before relying on a service, check the monitor’s current schedule and usage limits; these can change.
  5. Verify every alert on the bank site. Open the official page and read the notice date, affected services or channels, and scheduled interruption window. Confirm that the notice applies to your planned transaction before changing plans.

What to look for in a bank maintenance notice

Read the notice itself, not just the alert summary. Identify which service or channel is affected and the start and end times stated by the bank. A notice may concern only a particular service rather than all online banking. For example, Federal Bank’s maintenance page organizes notices around affected services and scheduled windows, while its notifications page carries separate service updates. These are examples of page organization, not a template every Indian bank follows. Federal Bank maintenance notices and Federal Bank notifications.

Public-notice pages can also include changes beyond downtime. Central Bank of India’s “Public Notices” page, for instance, includes topics such as KYC, charges, URLs, and banking services. If you only need maintenance alerts, choose a maintenance-specific page or section when one exists. Central Bank of India public notices.

Choose a page-change alert method

You can revisit a page manually or use a page-change monitoring tool that checks on a schedule and reports changes. When evaluating tools, check whether monitoring runs on your device or in the cloud, whether you can select a page area, what schedules and alert channels are available, and how easy it is to inspect what changed.

Distill

Distill describes page-area selection, scheduled monitoring, and alerts. Its documentation distinguishes local monitors that run on your device from cloud monitors that run on its servers. Consider whether checks must continue while your device is offline, then compare the current alert options and plan limits. Distill product information and local and cloud monitors.

Visualping

Visualping’s help information describes monitoring a whole page or selected element, choosing a schedule, and receiving alerts with before-and-after comparisons. A selected notice area may help avoid unrelated changes elsewhere on the page. Check its current options and limits before relying on it. Visualping page-monitoring help.

These tool descriptions do not establish that either service will detect every change on every bank site. An alert is not an official bank communication; verify the current notice directly on the bank’s official website.

Or skip the browser setup: use ScreenshotNeo

ScreenshotNeo can capture a bank’s public notice page with one API request. It is a screenshot, not a change-monitoring alert, so use it when you need a current visual capture rather than assuming it will notify you when a notice changes. Cookie banners, popups, and chat widgets are removed before the shot; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. An MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Learn about ScreenshotNeo.

Example cURL request (replace the URL with the bank page you have verified):

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options and response details. Sign up for 1,000 free screenshots a month with no card.

Common problems and safe next steps

  • You cannot find a maintenance page: Search the bank’s verified site for “maintenance,” “notifications,” or “service update,” and check whether notices appear under a broader public-notice page.
  • Alerts arrive for unrelated edits: If the tool supports area selection, monitor the notice list or maintenance section instead of the whole page.
  • An alert is unclear or seems urgent: Do not act on the alert alone. Open the official bank page independently and verify the notice date, affected services, and time window.
  • The saved address may be outdated: Start again from the bank’s app or another trusted source and confirm the current official domain before updating the monitored page.
  • No alert arrives: Absence of an alert does not prove there was no change. Check that monitoring is enabled, review its current schedule and limits, and visit the bank’s page directly when the service is important.
