Enable request interception before the action that sends the request, then handle the page’s request event and call request.continue(overrides). The overrides can change the request’s headers, method, post data, or URL. Every intercepted request must be resolved—continued, fulfilled with respond(), or stopped with abort()—or it can hang.
Enable interception and continue a request
Register interception before navigating or performing the action that triggers the request. This example adds a header to every request and continues each one:

});request.headers() returns a header object with lowercase names. Copy it before changing it so the override includes the headers you intend to send. To remove a header, set its value to undefined in the copied object, as in Puppeteer’s documented example for removing origin. See the HTTPRequest.continue() API reference.
Change only the requests that match a rule
Inspect the request’s URL, method, resource type, or another relevant property, and apply overrides only when the condition matches. Continue nonmatching requests too: enabling interception stalls requests until they are resolved or served from the browser cache.

});Keep each resolution method as the handler’s last action for that request. If your application or another package also registers interception handlers, guard against resolving a request already handled by another listener.
What you can override, and what continue does
The documented continue() override fields are headers, method, postData, and url. Pass only the fields you need; without overrides, request.continue() sends the request onward unchanged.
- Headers: Supply the complete header object you want sent, usually by copying
request.headers()and changing or removing selected entries. - Method: Supply the method string you want the request to use.
- Post data: Supply the request body as post data. Check that the original body is available before basing a change on it.
- URL: Supply the destination URL. Changing it this way is not a redirect response; it changes the URL used for the continued request.
These are the documented override properties in the continue() reference. Use the API reference for the Puppeteer version installed in your project if its method signature or behavior differs from the current documentation.

Choose how to resolve an intercepted request

Puppeteer’s request interception guide says that request.continue() must be called explicitly or the request will hang. That applies when continuing; requests you intend to fulfill or stop must instead be resolved with the corresponding method. See the request interception guide.

In legacy interception behavior, a resolution method takes effect immediately. If another handler already resolved the request, attempting to resolve it again can raise “Request is already handled!” Check request.isInterceptResolutionHandled() immediately before resolving.
If a handler awaits asynchronous work before resolving, check again after the await. Another listener may have handled the request while the first handler was waiting:

});For a synchronous handler, check and resolve without an intervening await. The interception guide documents the handled-state guard and the resolution behavior: Puppeteer request interception.
Cooperative interception
Cooperative mode lets multiple handlers participate before Puppeteer settles the resolution, but it works only when every handler supplies a numeric priority. If even one handler resolves without a priority, legacy immediate resolution applies. A neutral continuation can use priority 0 or DEFAULT_INTERCEPT_RESOLUTION_PRIORITY; use a custom priority only when you intend to affect which handler wins.
When priorities are present, the higher priority wins. Ties are settled in this order: abort, then respond, then continue. Treat this as an all-handlers convention, not a setting one listener can impose on unrelated listeners. See the interception guide.

Handle request bodies and distinguish failures from HTTP errors
hasPostData() can return true even when postData() cannot provide the body, including for a large or undecodable body. The current API reference deprecates postData() and directs users to fetchPostData() when the body needs to be retrieved. Check the reference for your installed version: HTTPRequest.fetchPostData().
An HTTP error status is not the same as a failed network request. Puppeteer documents responses such as 404 and 503 as completed requests that emit requestfinished; transport or request failures produce requestfailed. A redirect finishes the original request and triggers a new request. See HTTPRequest.
Troubleshoot interception problems

Frequently Asked Questions
Does changing the URL with `request.continue({ url })` send a redirect?
No. It changes the URL used for the continued request; it is not a redirect response.
Do I need to call `continue()` for a request I want to block?
No. Resolve a request you want to stop with `request.abort()` instead.
