To keep kirtan playing on YouTube Live, prepare an authorized audio mix and visual, then send them through an encoder to YouTube’s Live Control Room. A truly non-stop broadcast also needs a plan for playlist playback, power or network failures, and restarting the stream; YouTube’s encoder setup alone does not guarantee unattended 24/7 operation.
Before you set up the stream
Check that your channel can go live
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-stream restrictions in the prior 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it ahead of your planned launch. Check the channel’s current eligibility in YouTube Studio. YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance explains eligibility and activation.
Clear the music rights first
Confirm you have permission to livestream both the underlying compositions and the specific sound recordings in your mix. A devotional or traditional song, or a recording that is freely available to watch on YouTube, is not automatically cleared for rebroadcast. Arrangements, performances, and recordings can have distinct rights. Ask rights holders for written permission covering YouTube livestreaming and any archive or replay, and ask whether they need to allowlist your channel in Content ID.
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content, including other live broadcasts. It may show a placeholder and warn you; if the matched content continues, the stream may be temporarily interrupted or terminated. Even licensed material can be interrupted if the rights holder has not allowlisted the channel. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility for necessary worldwide rights on the content provider, including music rights involving artists, record labels, publishers, public performance licenses, and other royalty participants. Which permissions apply depends on the material and territory; the platform guidance does not determine the legal status of a particular kirtan recording. Read YouTube’s livestream terms and obtain advice for your situation if needed.
Prepare the audio and visual
Choose the playback source
For a prerecorded program, assemble the authorized tracks into a continuous mix or playlist that your encoder or playback system can feed to the stream. Check the transitions, levels, and total program length so the audience does not encounter unintended silence or abrupt changes. You do not need a microphone if you are sending a prepared mix. A microphone or other external audio hardware is relevant only if you are capturing live singers or instruments.
Use a still image or a simple loop
A static devotional image can accompany the audio in an encoder-produced stream. Use an image you have the right to display, and make sure the encoder is actually sending a video signal rather than audio alone. A simple motion loop is optional; test it along with the audio before publishing.

YouTube describes encoder streaming as a way to combine external audio or video with a produced layout. Its encoder livestreaming overview covers the workflow.
Set up YouTube Live and your encoder
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, select Create and then Go live. Create or schedule the stream and configure its title, visibility, and other stream details.
- Copy the ingest details. In Live Control Room, get the server URL and stream key for the stream. The key functions like an address and password for the encoder; keep it private. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio before continuing.
- Configure the encoder. In the encoder’s streaming settings, select RTMPS where supported, enter YouTube’s server URL and stream key, and select the audio and video sources. Set up the prepared audio playback and still image or loop.
- Use compatible output settings. YouTube’s RTMP/RTMPS recommendations include H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 video; AAC or MP3 audio; constant bitrate (CBR); and a two-second keyframe interval, with keyframes no more than four seconds apart. Choose a supported resolution and bitrate that your connection can sustain. Consult YouTube’s encoder settings guidance for its current resolution-specific bitrate recommendations.
- Preview before starting. Start the encoder’s feed, then check the incoming preview in Live Control Room. Confirm that both image and sound are correct before clicking Go live or starting the scheduled broadcast.
Choose settings for a stable broadcast
Do not simply choose the highest available bitrate. The total stream bitrate must fit your actual sustained upload capacity. YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload-bandwidth headroom, which helps avoid instability when the connection fluctuates. For example, if the selected stream uses 5 Mbps total, the connection should have more than 6.25 Mbps available upload capacity under the conditions in which you will broadcast.
Run a test with audio and motion representative of the real program. Check the encoder’s outbound bandwidth and YouTube’s stream-health indicators and messages. YouTube recommends preparing the encoder in advance, previewing in Live Control Room, checking that the stream is accessible, and testing backup failover if you have configured one. Its network, encoder, and stream-health guidance explains these checks.

Select it as the sound output and input device after plugging it in.
- TWO JACKS, TWO JOBS - The green jack is stereo OUT for headphones or powered speakers; the pink jack is mono microphone IN for a 3.5mm mic. It does NOT support 4-pole headsets on a single combo plug, it does NOT power passive speakers, and it does NOT add surround sound - it is a stereo 2-channel adapter.
- FOR LAPTOPS AND DESKTOPS THAT NEED AN AUDIO PORT BACK - Adds a headphone and mic port to a laptop, desktop, or mini PC whose onboard jack has failed or was never there. Managed and work-issued computers can block new USB audio devices by policy - check with your IT department before ordering for a company machine.
- SABRENT SUPPORT AND WARRANTY - What is in the box: one USB audio sound adapter. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty, extended to 2 years when you register within 90 days on the manufacturer's website.
Make the stream genuinely non-stop
Starting a livestream is only one part of keeping a radio-style channel running. You also need playback that continues through the end of the playlist, an encoder that remains active, dependable power and internet, and a person or system able to notice failures. Decide in advance what should happen if the encoder stops, the connection drops, or YouTube interrupts the broadcast. YouTube’s documented encoder workflow does not certify a particular unattended playlist tool or promise uninterrupted operation.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Check that playback repeats as intended and does not stop when the first file or playlist ends.
- Keep the encoder computer powered and prevent sleep or automatic shutdown for as long as you depend on it.
- Monitor Live Control Room for stream-health warnings and confirm that audio is still reaching the broadcast.
- Plan who will respond to outages and how the stream will be restarted; test any configured backup before relying on it.
- Keep the stream key private, and reset it if you believe someone else has obtained it.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live; the cloud loops the video so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. It can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. Each slot supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price, with no re-encode or quality tiers. The first day is free with no card required, one free day per account. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month.
StreamNeo plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting a live camera, and it streams to YouTube. You remain responsible for having the rights to the kirtan audio and visuals; cloud playback does not prevent copyright claims or interruptions. For Indian creators, UPI is supported; card checkout is available worldwide. To try it, start your free StreamNeo day.

Troubleshooting common problems
YouTube will not let the channel go live
Check verification status, live-stream eligibility, and whether the channel has a restriction within the past 90 days. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours for it to take effect.
The preview is missing or the encoder cannot connect
Verify that the encoder has the correct server URL and current stream key for the stream you created. Confirm that the encoder is sending and that the network permits the connection. If the key may have been exposed, reset it and update the encoder with the new one.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →The broadcast buffers or stream health is poor
Reduce the bitrate or resolution to a level your upload connection can sustain, and preserve YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom. Check the connection during a representative test rather than relying only on its advertised maximum speed.

The stream has picture but no music, or the audio is wrong
Check the encoder’s selected audio source, playback output, and audio codec settings. Listen to the Live Control Room preview before going live, and test the complete playback path rather than only listening locally on the encoder computer.
YouTube warns about copyright or interrupts the stream
Identify the matched material and contact the relevant rights holder. Confirm that permission covers the specific recording and livestream use, and ask whether the channel must be allowlisted in Content ID. A license does not necessarily prevent interruption if allowlisting is required and has not been completed.
The stream stops after running for a while
Check whether the playlist ended, the playback source stopped, the computer slept, the network failed, or YouTube reported a stream-health or rights issue. A non-stop setup needs a tested recovery and restart plan; simply scheduling a stream does not keep a failed encoder or audio source running.
