To play recorded Kannada podcast episodes as a continuous YouTube Live broadcast, send them through an encoder connected to YouTube Live Control Room. Put the episodes in a looping playlist in the encoder or playback software, preview the feed, and monitor it while it runs. For dependable YouTube archives, end or rotate each session before it reaches 12 hours: YouTube warns that longer streams may not be captured at all.

What you need before starting

  • A YouTube channel eligible to livestream. YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it before your planned broadcast: YouTube live-streaming setup guidance.
  • An encoder: either software running on a computer or a dedicated hardware encoder. YouTube supports both categories but does not endorse one for podcast-loop playback. Playlist and repeat controls vary by encoder, so confirm that your chosen setup can advance through and repeat your episodes.
  • Recorded episodes you have the right to broadcast live worldwide, including any music, clips, and other third-party material.
  • A stable upload connection sized for the total outgoing bitrate, plus a plan to keep an independent local recording.

Set up the continuous broadcast

  1. Arrange the episode playlist. In your encoder or playback software, add the episodes in the order you want listeners to hear them and enable repeat or looping. The playlist behavior is controlled by that software, not by a universal YouTube playlist-loop setting.
  2. Create a YouTube encoder stream. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live and create a stream in Live Control Room. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown there. YouTube describes the key as a kind of address/password that lets your encoder send a feed to the correct stream. Keep it private; if it is exposed, reset it in the stream settings. See YouTube’s encoder streaming instructions and stream key settings.
  3. Connect the encoder. Paste the stream URL and key into the encoder’s YouTube or custom RTMP connection settings. Select the prepared episode playlist as the media source. Exact labels and controls depend on the encoder you choose; check its current documentation for playlist repeat and local recording settings.
  4. Start sending and preview. Start the encoder output, then wait for the incoming preview in Live Control Room. Confirm that the picture and sound are correct before starting the live event using the selected stream workflow. YouTube says encoder streams create a watch page and may appear in subscriber feeds.
  5. Monitor the broadcast. Watch Live Control Room for connection or stream warnings, verify the event is accessible from the watch page and on mobile, listen for audio problems, and check that playback advances from one episode to the next. YouTube recommends testing the setup and continuously monitoring audio and video; its operational checklist is at YouTube streaming tips.

Keep the YouTube archive usable

YouTube says it can automatically archive a live stream if it is less than 12 hours. If a stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all. For a reliable per-session archive, plan to stop or rotate the broadcast before the 12-hour mark rather than treating one uninterrupted 24/7 event as a guaranteed recording. The exact handoff depends on your encoder and operating workflow. See YouTube’s live-stream archiving guidance.

Record a local copy as well. YouTube recommends a local archive as backup, so use the encoder’s recording feature or another recording method and confirm that the file is growing during the event. Store completed files independently of the YouTube archive; an external drive is one option, with capacity chosen for your recording format and retention needs.

Plan bandwidth and recovery

YouTube recommends upload bandwidth with 20% headroom above the full outgoing bitrate. For example, if the encoder sends a total of 6 Mbps, the connection should have at least 7.2 Mbps of upload capacity available for the stream under the recommendation. Other devices or uploads sharing the connection can reduce what is available, so test under the conditions you expect during the broadcast.

Make the operating plan explicit: assign someone to monitor the dashboard, check that episodes advance, listen for audio at intervals, and restart the feed if the playback software or connection fails. These are practical safeguards, not a guarantee against interruptions. A software encoder depends on its computer and connection; a hardware encoder avoids relying on a general-purpose computer but still depends on its own configuration, power, network, and playlist capabilities.

Check rights before putting the archive live

YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content, including another live broadcast. If matched content remains, YouTube may temporarily interrupt or terminate the stream. Even licensed third-party content may require the rights owner to add your channel to a Content ID allowlist. You may also receive Content ID claims on the archived stream after it ends.
